Meet up was a little chaotic, but guide gave a good 20 min overview before entering the cistern. The cistern itself is absolutely amazing.
You are in a very large group and the guide talk to you for about 10 minutes before you go into the cistern .
The company was easy to contact and very helpful. the meeting point was easy to find and the guide was extremely knowledgeable. most important was setting the tour up in advance saved us a lot of time waiting in line to get in. So people waited in line for almost two hours before being able to enter.
Best value for the money!! It's not a fully guided tour if ur expecting a whole guided one. When u enter the guide gives u all details in the first few mins and then lets u explore around
Great Experience! It is definitely the best way to explore museums and turist attractions in Istanbul. Ahmet, my guide was friendly and knowledgeable. He shared valuable information for the cistern, and made the experience smooth and enjoyable for everyone.
Very easy meet up. We walked right past the line and entered the cistern within 2 minutes. The tour guide was very informative and spoke in English very clearly. Highly recommend this.
We had a frustrating start that almost ruined the entire experience. We arrived on time at the meeting point but the first guide had such a large group with no clear instructions or name check that we unknowingly followed him all the way to the Basilica entrance. He then told us to go away — that we had missed our tour and it was our fault for following him without introducing ourselves first. Completely unacceptable attitude, especially for first-time visitors who didn't know the process. Thankfully, a guard nearby overheard the situation and stepped in — telling us there was another tour in 30 minutes and to head back to the meeting point. That guard deserves more credit than the guide did. The second guide — I believe his name was Omar/Umar — was a completely different experience. He checked our names, welcomed us warmly and said not to worry. He was knowledgeable, engaging, and even had a good sense of humor. He made the visit enjoyable. One thing to note — as others have mentioned, the guided portion is only about 15 minutes. After that you're on your own to explore and take photos, so don't expect a full guided walkthrough. Overall — the Basilica itself is stunning and worth visiting. But the organization and the first guide were a real letdown. Ask to confirm your spot clearly before following anyone.
Easy meet and able to skip the line. However although think the guide was probably very knowledgeable and spoke good English I struggled to hear him with his accent and with all the background noise. Think headphones would have helped. I don't think it was really worth the extra price and maybe would have been better with the audio guide.
Unfortunately, a dishonest cab driver took a different route than he should have and dropped at the incorrect destination and we missed out your.
I strongly advise against using this platform until dispute resolution and adherence to contractual obligations are guaranteed. I booked a skip-the-line ticket for the Basilica Cistern with a guided tour, paid for in advance, but the tour was never provided. I arrived at the meeting point on the agreed date and time, but no service provider was present. I received no prior notification, no cancellation message, and no on-site assistance to explain this failure. These facts constitute a clear breach of the contractual obligation to provide service, as defined by consumer law. Despite more than ten inquiries to customer service, the only response I received was a refusal of reimbursement on the grounds that "the operator did not approve it." This position is unacceptable: a service provider cannot evade its contractual obligations simply because the service was not actually provided. In this context, the refusal of reimbursement appears to be an abusive and unjustified practice. This failure to fulfill the agreed-upon service forced me to urgently reorganize my itinerary, resulting in real losses (wasted time, disruption to my trip, and the expense of purchasing a new ticket directly from the destination). To date, I am still awaiting: a full refund for the service not provided and appropriate compensation for the losses incurred
