Ok, so it's great that the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition is on here on tour from the Natural History Museum - it's on until September, so catch it while you can. Also great is that if you buy an admission ticket for the museum (which includes the Wildlife Photographer exhibition), you get an annual pass for the museum included so you can pop in whenever you want - a really good idea. Slightly sad is that the wonderful tiled Regency tea room which used to be upstairs no longer exists, and there isn't a cafe at the museum anymore - a lost revenue opportunity perhaps.
Pay the fee and the place is your for hours . Well laid out in a quiet and informative building away from the hustle of Brighton . Staff friendly and helpful . So many great exhibits as well as rolling exhibits . SO much Art Deco and Nouveau . A good 2 hour's worth .
Thank you for your review. We are so pleased you enjoyed the visit and exhibitions on offer, and feel it is good value for money. We look forward to seeing you back at one of our properties very soon.
So disappointed with my visit, last went a few years ago & thoroughly enjoyed it, now it seems to be jumping on the woke bandwagon. Your loss.
Had free entry with Art Fund Pass. Enjoyed museum but felt there was too much on ethnic issues and history rather than our own. Enjoyed the exhibition on the "Mod" fashion and protests which was very Brighton. Felt that the curators had a particular viewpoint and not sure it was very balanced. Overall a very nice displayed museum.
A varied and thought-provoking little museum, we came here for the ‘Queer the Pier’ exhibition which was so considerately curated. I enjoyed reading about every single piece!
Thank you- we are happy to hear you enjoyed visiting the exhibition and look forward to introducing you to our new exhibition 'Gender Stories' which opens on 31-1-26!
The Museum has a lot of very interesting exhibits, but little or no signs or guides as to where anything is. We came to see the Mods Exhibition and after wandering around for around 15 minutes couldn't find it, so we had to inquire at entrance. No wonder we couldn't find it, as it was on the first floor, no signs no clues. The exhibition was interesting but could have been better, it was mainly about clothes, when the Mod era was about a lot more, especially with regard to Brighton.
Hello and thanks for your review. I am sorry to hear you were disappointed with your visit. The 'MODs' exhibition is, as you say primarily a fashion exhibition, in collaboration with Ben Sherman. We are currently undergoing an extensive project to improve the building and exhibition space. The museum will reopen all spaces (including the Central Gallery) from this autumn, so whilst your visit was deemed less than satisfactory, please do consider visiting again when the visitor offer is more varied. Many thanks.
