Surely, not to repeat

The experience is curious. Very touristic. They have so well organized the visit, that each canoe that arrives in the village, has its minimum of musical reception and pseudo-traditional and routine dance (during our visit 4 canoes). They prepare a clearly dispensable commissary, and the 30 you charge visitors per person, possibly have such a high monthly and annual income, that it allows them not to insist on selling crafts they sell in the communal hut, most of them of Chinese origin and expensive. Nothing to do with the wide range of Mayan, Aymara or Qechuas crafts, at reasonable prices.

Hola. Saludos

Experience Panama with an Expert

We spent two full days with Camilo, and from each activity to the next, each experience somehow managed to outdo the last. Our cultural exchange with the Embera is one we'll never forget. Camilo was an intergral part of the presentation, whose translations did the Embera a great service. From the Gamboa to the Panama Canal to eating our way through Panama City, we were in outstanding hands with Camilo right from the planning stages through to our goodbye at the airport.

A must see in Panama City

This is definitely a must-do tour while you're in Panama City! The village has such a warm, authentic vibe, and the residents are just living their everyday lives, which makes the experience feel really special. The handmade crafts are absolutely beautiful—don't forget to bring some cash if you want to take a few treasures home. We loved the fried fish and patacones, and the fresh fruit was super tasty too! That said, I did feel that the river boat ride could have been a bit safer. While life jackets were provided, most of them were quite old and not really the right size for an average adult. On both trips, I was given a very large life jacket that I couldn’t fasten properly or adjust to fit securely. Honestly, it felt like it could have caused more trouble than help if I had fallen in. Safety is super important, especially when traveling on an unfamiliar river, so I hope this is something that gets addressed in the future.

Hello Thank you for the nice comments. The safety equipment is provided by the Emberá and in fact is adjustable. So sorry about that

Embera Indigenous Village Tour with Camilo

Our guide Camilo was on time, very knowledgeable and friendly. He provided safe, clean transportation, ice cold water and answered all of our questions. The Embera village is an amazing experience with amazing people who prepared a delicious lunch with fish, fruit and fried green plantains. We learned about the community, listened to good music, and danced. This is an amazing experience and I would do it over and over again!

Memory for a lifetime

Our guide picked us up from the hotel at the exact time indicated, the road lasted 40 minutes, and we needed to buy some fruit as a gift for the tribe's visit. Be sure to take mosquito spray with you. Shoes for walking on the river bottom, because in some places the depth reaches the knee, and of course a bathing suit If you swim, there is a waterfall. Camilo Bermudes was our excellent guide and bodyguard, helping us with the transition of steep ascents and descents. He told us about the life of this small people and made our excursion unforgettable.

Great tour to see the Embera village and the waterfall.

Our guide was Camilo. He was very pleasant and knowledgeable. At the Embera village he translated for us. Enjoyed the waterfall, too. Highly recommend.
