Loved this activity! You go on a smaller sized open boat and see a variety of monkeys that come right up to the boat! Also some great views on the canal and of the cargo ships that cruise through it.
Does what it says on the tin. 3 monkey species and a Sloth. Good pick up arrangements, excellent commentary on the canal and then the boat ride brought us close to the ships, which was a highlight. Then the wildlife was as advertised. Only downside (and big downside) was the boat drivers revving their engines to illicit howls from the Howler Monkeys. Totally unethical and in a national park.
Highlights: Nice, clean air conditioned bus; bonus history about the Panama Canal; being on the actual canal; seeing all 3 types monkeys, both types of sloths, and bonus wildlife. Lowlights: Pickup was not personalized as advertised; bus seats were super small; no bathroom option prior to boat tour; nature hike at end (1/2 mile down and back a dirt road, up and down inclines, to basically see nothing but ants); animal sightings and interaction not guaranteed (obviously varies)
Monkeys were super entertaining. Pick up and drop off was ultra convenient. Exceptional value for the money. Guides went to great lengths to ensure we saw ample wildlife.
We were picked up from our hotel when they said and though the drive to the boat trip was about an hour, time passed quickly with a lively and informative narration from our guide, Alex. The boat trip was brilliant. My wife steered us to the front of the boat (she had done her research on Tripadvisor) but I think the experience was good wherever you sit. We saw loads of capuchin and tamarind monkeys and got brilliant photo opportunities. There were also other animals and birds. On the walk we finally saw a sloth and had plenty of time to watch and photograph it. The whole afternoon flashed by and the trip was well worth the time and money. We were able to pay for the boat by card or cash (be aware it is not included in the tour price but it is the main attraction of the trip). The walk was also interesting and is not too strenuous. I am 70 and could keep up and enjoyed it enormously, ants and sloth were the highlights.
Yaz was very personable, polite, knowledgeable and fun! Carlos did a great job driving the van! 10/10 would recommend this tour!
Great experience! Very knowledgeable tour guide. He was truly amazing and had a great sense of humor.
Good experience, but cultural sensitivity was lacking given that the group had people of all nationality, the tour guide bought bananas to feed monkeys but be used very insensitive joke when he said “bananas were not for you to eat”, the joke was not funny at all.he also allowed people to bring and drink alcohol on the bus and the intoxicated people made the noise unbearable. It was disrespectful given that the were older people and children on the tour.
Omg this experience was nothing short of amazing. Our excursion was scheduled for August 10th in the morning. We got picked up from our location on time and the bus ride was very comfortable. Our tour guide was very pleasant and extremely knowledgeable. We saw both a two toe sloth and a 3 toe sloth and got to experience the monkeys in their natural habitat. The boat ride was my favourtie part of the excursion. I would definitely do this again!
The best experience ever the guy that was giving the tour was a amazing person a mis hijos le encantó todo
