Increíble ambiente y energía, transformando la vida de los jóvenes de Camboya, Phare Circus es más que un entretenimiento. Es una empresa social que apoya una escuela sin fines de lucro donde los jóvenes camboyanos transforman sus vidas.

El entretenimiento nocturno más exclusivo y auténtico de Siem Reap. Más que un simple circo, los artistas de Phare usan teatro, música, danza y artes circenses modernas para contar historias camboyanas únicas; Histórico, folklórico y moderno. Los jóvenes artistas de circo te sorprenderán con su energía, emoción, entusiasmo y talento. Los artistas de Phare son estudiantes y graduados del centro de formación profesional de Phare Ponleu Selpak (www.phareps.org) en Battambang. La asociación se formó en 1994 por 9 hombres jóvenes que regresaban a casa de un campo de refugiados después del régimen Khmer Rouge. Fueron de gran ayuda durante ese tiempo por un maestro de arte que usaba clases de dibujo como terapia y quería compartir esta nueva habilidad entre los jóvenes pobres, socialmente desfavorecidos y con problemas en Battambang. Fundaron una escuela de arte y siguieron escuelas públicas para ofrecer educación gratuita. Una escuela de música y una escuela de teatro fueron las siguientes y finalmente, para los niños que querían más, la escuela de circo. Hoy más de 1.200 alumnos asisten a la escuela pública todos los días y 500 asisten a las escuelas alternativas. Phare Ponleu Selpak también tiene amplios programas de divulgación, tratando de ayudar con los problemas destacados en sus propios cuentos. Phare The Cambodian Circus ofrece a estos estudiantes y graduados un lugar para perfeccionar sus habilidades y un lugar para ganar un salario decente. Dinero que los sacará de la pobreza y les dará autoestima y libertad.

A wonderful show A fantastic human adventure We had a great evening Extraordinary acrobats
Don't waste your money. For $38.00 instead take your family home for a nice dinner for 4 people. The show is not a real circus. Horrible acrobats. Most of the short one hour show you see them crowning around. There is only one acrobat doing all the acts. So lame. This is for people who never seen real acrobats from China and Russia. Not entertaining at sll. Left disappointed. Don't go .waste of money.

Such a wonderfully engaging evening. I’m not even a big fan of the circus but I couldn’t recommend this enough! Such a great cause too. The food onsite was delicious.

This was the fastest hour of my life. The circus show was so entertaining that the time flew by. The entire thing was so well done including the welcome from the performers with drums, jugglers and cheering. The food available pre-show, and the entertainment before the show is top notch and the food is inexpensive. Every seat in the big top is a good one and the quality of the show is fantastic. The best part is that seeing the show supports the mission of this program which is to give skills to underprivileged youth in order for them to have a better quality of life. It is win-win and feel good all the way around.

Astounding! Heading in we just assumed that it was just another circus performance. But tonight’s performance blew our mind, from start to finish it was so captivating left us on edge most of the show, it was just incredibly breathtaking. It educated us on how much rice is part of the Cambodian culture, & how Cambodian people eat live & breathe rice & community. We’re truly thankful that we got to experience the show. It’s great to see that although born into difficult circumstances the circus provides access to people to learn about different art forms free of cost! A great initiative!
