Itinerario

Our tour guide was an integral part of the neighborhoods she shared with us. We enjoyed a huge variety of foods and I found out about food items that I continued to order while in Istanbul.

Esin was great! Very passionate and knowledgeable about the local food. My hubby is a chef and hard to please but he loved it and it has inspired him. We loved it all and we went back to 4 of the places afterwards and bought things to take home. Very happy we did this.
Thank you for sharing such a wonderful review. We are absolutely thrilled that the walk inspired you both, and it brings us tremendous joy to hear you returned to support those traditional neighborhood spots. By visiting these family-run kitchens, you are directly helping to champion the unsung heroes of the kitchen and preserve the deep culinary traditions of the city.
A remarkable day! We are Culinary Backstreets veterans and the Two Markets tour was by far the absolute best. Our tour guide Gonca was warm, friendly and showed us parts of the City and introduced us to people and places that we would have never found on our own. (I've been to Istanbul over 10 times). I observed that the shop keepers and vendors were very attached to Gonca and loved her. This genuine affection translated into a a superlative experience. She is also an amazing story teller and kept us enthused and interested for hours. Upon reflection - I can truly say that this was the best food tour experience that we have ever had... The following day we ran into a couple that had been on this same tour. They gushed over how wonderful the Gonca led experience was for them too. Culinary Backstreets - you have a treasure in Gonca and she represents your brand exceeding well.

Thank you for continuing to travel with us and for supporting these local heroes as they work to preserve their culinary traditions.
Very beautiful tour; our guide Isan was great. Discovery of food, markets, but also of culture and especially of its inhabitants, as if Istanbul were a (very, very) large village.
Saw so much of Istanbul with this tour - and ate at so many local places. Highly recommend. Esin was great!

Too notch! Fun, down to earth and knowledgeable! Skip the guess work and enjoy good, family run restaurants
We had a fantastic food tour with Ibrahim beginning in Kadikoy and across to the Asia side with a Bosphorus ferry ride. We had stops for tea, coffee, breakfast, lunch, baklava, snacks, ice cream, desserts, and more. It was a gorgeous day and an opportunity to try many Turkish foods we wouldn’t have ordered on our own. A good deal of history as well. Many thanks to Ibrahim for rescheduling our emergency dental appointment and coordinating our Uber taxi.
This was one of the standouts of my time in Istanbul and an amazing introduction to the city, its history and its food scene. I did this on my second day in Istanbul and it was a great way to orient myself with the city and introduce me to such a variety of dishes I may not have otherwise tried. I highly recommend the two continents experience. I loved that they only do small groups (7 in our group) and Ibrahim is an excellent guide.

We had a wonderful culinary adventure on this tour — truly the highlight of our time in Istanbul. If you love food and want to experience both sides of the city, this is a must‑do. Our host, Ibrahim, was fantastic. He shared rich historical insights and guided us to incredible spots where we tasted a huge variety of dishes Istanbul has to offer.
