Palace, yes, but only through another provider!

We booked through TripAdvisor. Our booking was confirmed by TripAdvisor. We were informed that we would receive the entry tickets one day before our visit. Unfortunately, that did not happen. Since we were on a cruise, we could only realize in the morning that we had not received an email and could no longer respond. The palace staff was very helpful, and after several phone calls and discussions, we were able to enter the palace after about 45 minutes without having to pay the entrance fee again. By the way, there was no waiting line. If we had bought the tickets on-site, we would have been inside in 3 minutes. Very poor service! The palace itself is very worth seeing.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear about the difficulty you experienced before your visit. After reviewing our records, we can confirm that the tickets were originally sent through the booking system on May 27 and were attached to the booking conversation. In addition, when the palace staff contacted us on the morning of your visit at 10:11 AM, we immediately investigated the issue and resent the tickets at 10:16 AM, despite it being a Sunday and outside our regular working hours. As the tickets had already been issued and delivered through the platform, the issue may have been related to email delivery, spam filtering, or platform notifications. Unfortunately, these factors are outside of our control. Nevertheless, we always do our best to assist our guests as quickly as possible, and we are pleased that the matter was resolved and that you were able to enjoy your visit without having to purchase new tickets. Thank you for your kind comments about the palace, and we appreciate the opportunity to clarify the circumstances.

Palace was fantastic but Poor entry instructions

First the logistics, Trip Advisor and their booking agent provided very poor information to make the visit easier. They didn’t provide instructions on the entry and how to get the audio equipment. Everyone needs to go through the security line which might take an hour so arrive when the Palace opens to wait just 10 minutes. Then skip the ticket line, go to the right directly to the entrance where they will scan your QR code. I couldn’t find the audio pickup and didn’t want to go back to the long line. The Dolmabahçe Palace in Istanbul is along the Bosphorus, and offers stunning views, blending European and Ottoman architectural styles in an elegant and majestic manner. It is best to arrive when they open due to the later large crowds. Note everyone needs to go through the security checkpoints, the skip the line pass saves you from standing in the ticket line. The interiors, with glittering crystal chandeliers, gold-leafed ceilings, and exquisite artworks, create a sense of awe. The palace gardens are equally beautiful, perfect for a peaceful stroll with picturesque surroundings. As the former residence of Ottoman sultans and the place where Atatürk spent his final days, Dolmabahçe is rich in history, making it a must-see for anyone visiting Istanbul.
