Conducido por la madre del Emir, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Education City es una iniciativa de la Fundación Qatar para la Ciencia, la Tecnología, la Educación y el Desarrollo de la Comunidad. Ubicado en el municipio de Al Rayyan, es el hogar de algunas de las principales universidades del mundo, la Biblioteca Nacional de Qatar, un centro de estudios islámicos, el Museo Mathaf (el hogar de la colección de arte moderno más grande del mundo), la Orquesta Filarmónica de Qatar, el Caballo Al Shaqab Racing Academy y Oxygen Park.

Durante una corta caminata, o en tranvía, por el campus, podrías visitar una universidad de la Ivy League, cruzar la calle para explorar una de las bibliotecas más grandes de la región y luego asistir a un micrófono abierto en la universidad vecina que está detrás. Es un lugar con campus filiales de algunos de los principales institutos educativos del mundo, una universidad de investigación local, incubadoras de nueva creación, parques tecnológicos, sitios patrimoniales, instituciones culturales y mucho más.
La Biblioteca Nacional de Qatar actúa como un administrador del patrimonio nacional de Qatar al recopilar, preservar y poner a disposición la historia registrada del país. En su papel de biblioteca de investigación con una biblioteca de patrimonio preeminente, la Biblioteca fomenta y promueve una mayor comprensión global de la historia y la cultura de la región del Golfo.
Mathaf Collection, copropiedad de Qatar Museums y Qatar Foundation, ahora tiene más de 9,000 obras, por lo que es la colección especializada más grande del mundo en su tipo. Un grupo inicial de trabajos fue reunido por S.E. Jeque Hassan bin Mohammed bin Ali Al Thani.
La Orquesta Filarmónica de Qatar realiza y promueve la música occidental y árabe para inspirar a los niños y adultos de Qatar y el mundo árabe a crear y disfrutar de la música.
Al Shaqab se presenta como un tributo perdurable al caballo árabe y la tradición de excelencia ecuestre que ha evolucionado junto con esta raza en Qatar.

Very good. Made us want to came to Doha for more days
We recently took a private half-day architectural tour of Doha with guide Mr. Ahmad. We wanted to learn about the culture and history of Qatar and this far exceeded our expectations. Mr. Ahmad greeted us promptly at the lobby of our hotel with a warm smile and immediately tailored the itinerary to our interests and what we have seen so far. What set Mr. Ahmad apart was his passion and storytelling ability; he spoke clearly, with excellent English, and paced the tour perfectly so as not to feel rushed. He was flexible, patient with our many questions, and went above and beyond by recommending places for lunch afterward. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Doha, and Mr Ahmad made this visit feel accessible and exciting. I wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone seeking a personalized, enriching tour—worth every penny! If you’re in Doha, book with him; you won’t be disappointed.
I had an absolutely wonderful and informative tour with Ahmed to Doha's Education City. He took his time to explain the buildings that are part of Education City. He allowed plenty of time for me to take photos. Ahmed also took me to see the newly opened Crystal walk. A 5-star tour. Highly recommend this tour. You got to visit their library, it is one of a kind.
