A la entrada de Rugova se encuentra el Patriarcado de Peja. El monasterio está ubicado en los bordes de un antiguo Siperant romano y bizantino. El complejo del monasterio, que consta de cuatro iglesias, de las cuales tres iglesias conectadas como un todo, fue construido en el primer tercio del siglo XIII, 1321–24 y 1330 –37..Está protegida por la UNESCO desde 2003, y durante más de 300 años estuvo protegida por una familia Rugova que ostentaba el título de “voivoda”.
La Mezquita Bajrakli es la mezquita principal situada en el centro del Bazar de Peja. Fue construida en 1471 por el sultán Fatih Mehmet Hani y es una mezquita de una sola cúpula de estilo otomano con la cúpula más antigua y más alta de la ciudad.
Tahir Bey Inn, donde se encuentra el Museo Etnológico, ahora presenta una antigua casa de pueblo que pertenece a la segunda mitad del siglo XVIII. Esta casa también es bastante interesante en cuanto a la preservación de los elementos arcaicos, donde el interior está casi intacto, y como resultado, la casa es un objeto de significación cultural, tanto en términos arquitectónicos como etnológicos. Adicionalmente, en el museo se exponen más de 120 piezas que ilustran la cultura y tradiciones de este país.

Great introduction to Peja and the nature is very beautiful. The private transport was nice and effortless for us to just sit back and enjoy. We were glad we did not attempt to drive the small road in Ragova Canyon and by the cave. Recommend doing as soon as you arrive to the city.

Visar was a wonderful guide. Our bus was late arriving in Peje and so we missed our meeting point. A phone call to Visar enabled us to find each other. Visar was very flexible in allowing us to join the tour late and made a special effort to ensure that when the tour was over we arrived in time to catch the bus back to Prizren where we were staying. The tour itself was a very good mix of cultural and geographical sites in Peje - to get a good understanding of the history of Peje and the beauty of its surroundings I would highly recommend this tour and Visar the guide.

Visar was a truly amazing host . A very kind considerate host with an excellent knowledge of the area as he went to school and is a real local . Each part of the tour was exceptional . The water fall , mountains and caves were all unique experiences and it was nice to start off with a tour of the town . If you visit Peja you must do this tour and I guarantee it will be the high of the trip to Peja
