We visited several museums during our trip, but Orsay was easily our favorite. It felt less overwhelming than larger museums, and we could actually stop and enjoy the paintings without rushing through endless galleries.
I came for the famous artists but ended up enjoying the smaller collections just as much. There was always another painting or sculpture that caught my attention. The museum is beautifully organized and definitely worth adding to any Paris itinerary.
Walking into the old railway station instantly impressed me. The high ceilings, huge clock, and natural light make this museum feel very different from others. Seeing works by Van Gogh and Monet in such a setting made the visit even more memorable.
I expected to spend an hour here, but nearly four hours went by without noticing. Every gallery had something different, from Impressionist masterpieces to beautiful sculptures. The building itself is as impressive as the collection.
Excellent experience. Booked last minute, literally 40 min before. Had our tickets available immediately. Very great communications from customer service in regards to where to be and how to access the tickets. Thank you! Highly recommend.
Ticket line was avoided with ordering from Viator. The museum is absolutely amazing. Plan on several hours to see the various galleries. We had lunch at the 5th floor cafe which was very good and reasonably priced with a view. Then go outside on the terrace for a wonderful view of the city.
It was horrible because the crowds were absolutely insane. Hundreds of people (tourists) in every single gallery, immovable in front of the famous paintings while listening to earphones or snapping photos. The worst museum experience of my life. Not to mention the very confusing signage and the complete lack of staff to offer help with directions. You'd think a state museum making tons of money would have the decency to provide dozens of helpful staff -- but they were nowhere to be seen. The current state of this museum for visitors -- beautiful as it is in itself -- is a blot on the name of Paris. (And they make you buy tickets in advance!!) DON'T COME TO THIS MUSEUM DURING SUMMER IF YOU CAN POSSIBLY AVOID IT. I will never do so myself, that's for sure.
Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that the crowd levels at the museum affected your overall experience. The Musée d'Orsay is one of the most visited cultural attractions in Paris, particularly during the summer season, and visitor volumes can be exceptionally high during peak travel periods. We would like to clarify that our service provides valid admission tickets, while the management of visitor capacity, gallery access, signage, staffing levels, and the overall museum experience are handled directly by the museum administration. Unfortunately, these operational aspects are beyond our control. Advance ticket requirements are established by the museum to help manage demand and ensure access for visitors, especially during busy periods when same-day availability may be limited. We appreciate your comments and understand that a quieter visit can offer a very different experience. For travelers seeking a more relaxed atmosphere, visiting during the early morning hours, weekdays, or outside the peak summer season may provide a more enjoyable experience. Kind regards, World Pass Tour Paris
Beautiful Day at Orsay The museum was absolutely stunning, especially the Impressionist paintings. Entry was smooth and easy. Musée d’Orsay is definitely a must-visit place in Paris.
Museum was excellent, but cannot emphasize enough to buy tickets before hand from museum directly. Tickets we were sold were way overpriced, meant to be timed but were not. Was charged for a child who are free, what a rip off.
Booked the Direct to Musée d'Orsay ticket and everything went smoothly. Entry was quick and stress-free, and the museum itself was absolutely beautiful. Seeing Van Gogh and Monet paintings in person was unforgettable. Definitely one of the highlights of our Paris trip.
