El día comienza cuando lo recogemos en su hotel entre las 7:30am y las 8:00am en una mini furgoneta. Por favor sea paciente ya que el tráfico en algún momento es un problema, pero no se preocupe, nosotros lo recogeremos al igual que recogeremos a otros viajeros también.
Un spa natural rico en minerales A diferencia de los conos volcánicos que hacen erupción de lava, El Totumo es un volcán de lodo, que es una fisura en la tierra que constantemente ventila lodo mezclado con agua y gas de las profundidades subterráneas. Tamaño : Es pequeño, mide unos 15 metros de altura, accesible por una escalera de madera. El Lodo : El lodo es altamente viscoso, cálido, y lleno de minerales como sílice, magnesio, calcio, azufre, y hierro. Se cree que esta composición tiene propiedades exfoliantes, desintoxicantes y terapéuticas para la piel y los músculos. 2. La sensación flotante La parte más fascinante es la densidad del lodo. Es tan gruesa que es imposible hundirse. Cuando subes al cráter, tu cuerpo se mantiene naturalmente a flote, creando una extraña y maravillosa sensación relajante de ingravidez. La experiencia Los visitantes suben las escaleras hasta la cima, descienden al cráter (que solo puede albergar a unas 10-15 personas a la vez) y se sumergen en el boyante baño de barro.

- Propina y Comunidad Local : La comunidad nativa de este pueblo se apoya únicamente en la actividad comercial del volcán. Es común que los residentes locales ofrezcan ayuda con los artículos que lleva y posteriormente pidan una propina. La propina debe ser voluntaria y a su discreción. Para simplificar el proceso y evitar las solicitudes, recomendamos ascender al volcán sin ningún objeto personal, simplemente vaya con la ropa con la que tiene la intención de ingresar al lodo.
- Masaje y Exfoliación : Una vez dentro del volcán, hay individuos locales que ofrecen masajes. Por favor, deje muy claro si desea o no este servicio de masaje y exfoliación.
- Servicio de Limpieza : Al salir del volcán, un grupo de mujeres locales ofrecerá limpiar el lodo de su cuerpo en un lago natural. Si no desea utilizar este servicio, también puede limpiarse por su cuenta.
- Costos Extras : Tenga en cuenta que cualquier asistencia que reciba, independientemente de si es ofrecida por el guía o no, incurrirá en un costo extra.

The mud bath experience was great. The tour guide was nice and friendly. I gave a 3 star rating because of our unpleasant experience with the local people asking for tips from each family member for each unsolicited little service they do. We said NO to massage and NO to touching. They asked 10 pesos (3 USD) for taking a few family photos but each family member had to pay the 10 pesos, mandatory. 10 pesos each for giving you a hand while getting out of the pool which was unnecessary, unsolicited and unexpected. 10 pesos for carrying your slippers down to the river when getting washed off, which we said we need to have and wear our slippers because it was too hot to walk down to the river barefooted. They refused to give us our slippers back, this was also mandatory so they can ask for money to carry them, when we really need to wear them for comfort. We feel like the tour company was telling us to pay the 10 pesos each service/each person whether we take the service or not. We understand the need to give a tip but it was the way they do it is what got me. They touch you or carry your slippers without being asked and there you go…you pay 10 pesos! That was the unpleasant experience we had otherwise we enjoyed the mud bath.

We had an amazing time with our driver Jesus and travel guide Ninche. However once it was over we were bombarded with the staff aggressively telling us we need to pay them tips not even giving us the opportunity to. Besides that it was a good mud experience. I would do it again
