We were given the option of hanging bridges or zip lining...we did the zip lining.....They had the extensive zip lining....Worth the price for the trip....There is a cheaper one which do not offer as extensive zipline as this one.....Depends on what you expect..
My daughter and I had a great trip to Monteverde. It was absolutely beautiful. The tour guide was kind and very thoughtful. He was very helpful and discussed things as we passed them.
This was a very long day as driving from San Jose to Monteverde took 3 to 3.5 hours one way. However it was our last day in Costa Rica and we wanted to see this special place. Our driver Freddie picked us up and drove us there and back safely and efficiently. Freddie was accompanied by his wife and two other people, one of whom was a family friend visiting her grandmother in Monteverde. They were nice and Freddie’s wife even took pictures of us doing a tour of the forest and hanging bridges. Lunch and a quick visit to the reptile museum were included in addition to either zip lining or hanging bridge tour with a naturalist. The roads going there were generally good except for the last few kilometers to Monteverde where it was not yet paved and thus very bumpy. In retrospect, my husband and I would have preferred to sit in the first row of the van because the back row was tight and a bit uncomfortable however this row was already taken by the Freddie’s colleague and family friend. Next time I would recommend that staff or non-paying passengers take the back seats so customers could sit in the best seats. I would suggest to other Costa Rica visitors to stay overnight in Monteverde as there is a lot to see there but if this is not possible, then using Costa Rica Itinerary for the full-day trip would work out very well.
