Extremely knowledgeable, go first thing in the morning
Leonardo did an excellent job guiding us through the Colosseum! He was incredibly knowledgeable and we appreciated his enthusiasm around sharing the rich history of the Colosseum and Rome in general. Would highly recommend using Liv Tours (specifically Leonardo) and will be using them again for future trips!
The express tour was perfect for a very hot August day! Our tour guide Andy (Andrew) was a wonderful well of knowledge about the history of the site! He was able to answer questions from both adults and kids (!) with insight and humor. Truly a great tour and didn’t feel like anything was missed!
This was an absolutely incredible experience! I honestly can't recommend it enough! A quick heads-up: the meeting point was a little tricky to figure out at first if you're not familiar with navigating Rome, but once you arrive, it all makes complete sense. Just make sure to give yourself plenty of time and look for the giant Subway Line B signs where the subway actually. And make sure to go up the escalator inside the subway station. But from there, everything was absolute perfection! Our guide Chiara (aka Whisky) was fantastic! She was so knowledgeable, patient, and clearly an expert on all things Roman history. Walking along real ancient Roman roads, exploring historic houses, and soaking in all that history was such a treat, plus there were endless gorgeous photo ops. When we got to the Colosseum, our guide made the whole process effortless. Despite the big crowds, she seamlessly navigated us through and made sure to keep us in the shade whenever possible. We learned so much about the history, evolution, and usage of the Colosseum! The 3-hour length was the absolute sweet spot and it didn't feel too long or too short. Just make sure to wear great walking shoes, because you'll definitely be getting your steps in!

Just to clarify, this tour was booked directly through LivTours. It was officially: The Best of Colosseum & Ancient Rome With Exclusive Arena Access | Semi-Private Tour. As my first solo trip, I couldn’t have asked for anything better from Liv! With other companies booking up to 25 in a tour, this was a max of 6 people! Valentina was not only knowledgeable, but funny and engaging! You could tell she loved what she did and was enthusiastic throughout. It made it all the more exciting to experience history.
