Learning how to surf with Kohl and Koi at Hawaiian Surfing Adventures was one of the most joy-filled mornings we spent together as a family on the ocean. Thanks to their instruction, patience, and encouragement, all five of us were able to learn how to surf, and some of the kids in our family were even able to give some tricks a try.
Family of 4 - all relatively new to surfing. Patrick got everyone standing up and surfing in no time. Super friendly chap who loves his cacao! His guidance was very helpful and practical. Hanalei is a beautiful place to learn (very beginner friendly) with an unmatched vista. Over the years I’ve had lessons in Lihue, Poipu and now Hanalei. I’d say that Hanaleii provides the best experience overall. Hawaii Surfing Adventures gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Patrick the Legend gets ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great way to begin surfing. All my teenagers loved it. It wasn’t overwhelming. It was a little crowded out in the bay, but it worked out. For sure recommend.

My husband and I had the best time learning to surf on our honeymoon. Patrick was our instructor and he was great! Very positive and encouraging. We both were able to catch many waves throughout our lesson and had a blast. The waves were the perfect size for learning and the beach itself is stunning.

Palani was kind and patient with our keiki. The water was beautiful and the waves were the perfect size to brush up on surf skills. We had a great time watching every kid catch several waves.

This is an excellent way to learn to surf! Since I was completely new to surfing I was a bit intimidated at first but my instructor did a fantastic job introducing me to the method on the beach before practicing it on the waves. I crashed the first few times but I quickly improved with my instructor’s guidance and by the end of the lesson I learned to surf! And it’s really fun!! I recommend this to anyone who has an interest in surfing the waves and never had done so before!

Booked a surf lesson for my daughter and myself. We met the owner who was really sweet and friendly. Our instructor was Tiger (highly recommend) who was professional, friendly, and offered great advice for us new surfers. Thanks for a memorable experience!

Great experience! We originally booked our kids and then I (mom) wanted to try also. it was very easy to add a 3rd lesson as well as to rent a SUP and extra surf board on the day of. That value was great (something like $47 total including tax for 10:30-end of day SUP and 12:30-end of day surf board). The check in process was easy - quick paperwork for our extra boards, get rash guards (WEAR THEM) and instructions on how to get to the beach. The instructor met us out there with boards. He gave us a quick land-based tutorial and then out in the water! Having surfed on the rocky bottom of Maui, surfing in the sandy bottom of Hanalei bay is a dream!

We enjoyed our private lesson and the weather was perfect for us to get multiple rides in. Our instructor taught us surfing etiquette, safety, and how to surf on our own once the lesson was over.
