Qoricancha, o el «Patio Dorado», era el sitio más importante dedicado al culto del dios sol. Las paredes alguna vez estuvieron cubiertas con láminas de oro. En este lugar se construye el convento que hoy lleva el mismo nombre, con estructuras de piedra pulida. Cuenta con una notable portada de estilo renacentista y una singular torre barroca, además de una impresionante colección de pinturas de la escuela cusqueña.
El nombre Saqsayhuaman significa «halcón satisfecho» en quechua. Esta fortaleza fue construida para proteger la ciudad de Cusco de los invasores orientales y es un excelente ejemplo de la arquitectura militar inca. Construido con enormes bloques de granito, algunos de los cuales alcanzan hasta 5 metros de altura y pesan hasta 350 toneladas, consta de tres grandes terrazas bordeadas por colosales muros de piedra que se extienden hasta 300 metros de largo. Por su cercanía con el Cusco, también sirvió como cantera para algunas de las construcciones coloniales de la ciudad.
Qenqo fue un centro ceremonial inca con túneles y plataformas utilizadas para rituales y ceremonias religiosas, mostrando la importancia espiritual de este sitio para la civilización inca. Qenqo cuenta con tallados, con agujeros, escalones y canales, probablemente utilizado para depositar chicha (una bebida a base de maíz) en los rituales incas.
Puca Pucara es también conocida como la fortaleza roja ya que las piedras con las que se construyó se han tornado de este color debido a sus altos niveles de hierro. Además de la fortaleza se pueden apreciar otras estructuras arqueológicas como los acueductos, recintos y fuentes. Por la cercanía que tiene con Tambomachay y sus características se cree que constituía un fuerte militar de defensa de este lugar.
Conocido como el “Baño del Inca”, Tambomachay era un centro ceremonial dedicado al culto al agua y lugar de descanso del monarca Inca. Esta hecho a base de rocas talladas, las cuales forman un hermoso conjunto de canales y caídas de agua, provenientes de manantiales. Fin de los servicios.

This was a great introduction to the archaeological sites around Cusco, our guide was knowledgeable, led us around the sites efficiently avoiding long ticket lines, and allowed plenty of time to walk around and take photos. I especially appreciate the option at Saqsayhuaman to choose whether to return on the bus or spend as much time as we wanted then walk back on our own. I chose to spend over 2 hours exploring the stunning site taking my time and had small picnic lunch that I recommend packing if you do this. Finally, I really enjoyed the roughly 30 minute mostly down hill walk through some picturesque residential streets back to the city center.
A fabulous Inca place, overlooking the city of Cusco!!!! We wonder how such a site could have been built when we see the size of the stones and their weight!!!!! It is advisable to take several hours to visit the entire site which is very extensive!!!!! Note that the welcome of Peruvians is really warm and really changes from that of French

I wouldn't recommend this experience to an English speaker. The guide was difficult to understand and the tour was rushed due to the guide needing to explain everything in two languages at each stop.
This place is really nice but after exploring Machupichu, the Sacred Valley or Sacsaywaman everything seems pretty much the same. Don't get me wrong I was fascinated with the majestic constructions but after a while, I got tired of it. It is worthy to see it. I suggest going there before going to Machupichu.

An amazing place, rain or no rain. The history of the place is amazing. Our guide told us how they moved the stones and part of the Inca structure, Seeing him in person is surprising. The pictures are great next to the big rocks and the windows still standing
