En las ruinas mayas de Chacchoben serás conducido por un guía local profesional. Caminaremos en la jungla para explorar y aprender sobre las diferentes estructuras del sitio maya, tales como: Templo 24, Plaza B, Gran Plaza, Gran Basamento, Los Gemelos, Las Vasijas y Templo Uno. Esta excursión también ofrece la posibilidad de aprender sobre plantas locales y observar algunas especies de fauna local, como aves y monos araña. En la laguna de Bacalar, el primer lugar para visitar es el "Cenote Esmeralda", donde te sorprenderán los diferentes tonos de azul y comprenderás por qué la laguna de Bacalar se conoce con frecuencia como la laguna de los 7 colores. El siguiente punto para disfrutar será el "Cenote Negro", que es un cenote a cielo abierto y también el punto más profundo de la laguna. El último lugar para explorar es el Canal Pirata, como se le explicará ese día, los piratas solían entrar a Bacalar usando este canal para robar madera preciosa local.

Lo llevaremos al sitio arqueológico de Chacchoben, donde tendrá una visita guiada de 1.5 horas con un guía nativo que revelará la historia de una ciudad maya que floreció alrededor del año 300 DC.
El primer vistazo que tendrá de esta hermosa laguna será cuando nos acerquemos a la costa desde una colina. El primer lugar para visitar en la laguna de Bacalar es el "Cenote Esmeralda", donde te sorprenderán los diferentes tonos de azul y comprenderás por qué la laguna de Bacalar se conoce con frecuencia como la laguna de los 7 colores. Nuestra siguiente parada es "Cenote Cocalitos", hogar de estromatolitos, que se conocen como piedras vivas y se consideran la forma de vida más antigua del planeta. El tercer punto para disfrutar será el "Cenote Negro", que es un cenote a cielo abierto y también el punto más profundo de la laguna. Será una experiencia increíble y un día lleno de diversión y aprendizaje.

We were excited to do this excursion, however, choppy seas and strong winds prevented our ship from docking in Costa Maya. I let Chac Ek (operator) know and within the hour they worked with Viator to get our booking fully refunded. Was grateful to get such great service and an easy resolution. Hopefully we’ll be back sometime soon to do this tour!
Leo and staff at Chac Ek were phenomenal. This activity has been on of the best adventures we’ve taken as a family. It was a perfect balance of gorgeous historical lagoon time, a locally made lunch, followed by an outstanding visit at the Mayan ruins. Absolutely fantastic tour guide.

What an incredible tour!!!! Chicken & Juan Corona were awesome. I appreciate how Juan gave us a lot of history on the ride to the ruins then helped us take pictures and just take it in while we were there. A lot of times I don’t like tours because when you’re at the location, they’re giving you all this information and sometimes you just want to take a moment to embrace the space you’re in so this is exactly the type of tour I love. They were also funny and fun. The place we had lunch was incredible. The lagoon. No words. AMAZING. Book this. We were on a cruise and we made great timing so book this instead of the Cruise one.

This was the best excursion we did on our trip. We had a group of 13 people ranging from 6 to 74 years old and everyone enjoyed it. The company was great with communication through What's App, responding quickly to all my questions. Finding our tour guide outside the port was easy and everything was a smooth process. The first thing our guide did was confirm the time we had to be back to our ship and went over the entire schedule for the day to make sure we were comfortable with the timeline and they had us back in more than enough time to wander shops in the port before we had to be back on the ship. Juan Corona was an awesome guide and Miguel was our driver. Juan Corona was so informative about the ruins and they got us there before the buses full of people arrived so we basically had the place to ourselves. We stopped at a local restaurant for lunch and the food was delicious (included in the tour price). We stopped and got fresh pineapple and mango that Juan gave us as a snack at the lagoon. The lagoon was everyone's favorite part. It was beautiful and so refreshing just relaxing in the water. Highly recommend this tour!

First of all, there are no boat tours on Wednesdays due to a local regulation that forbids navigation anywhere in the lagoon so beware of that. They won't tell you that until after you book the tour. They take you by car to only one spot on the lagoon where you spend a couple of hours before heading back to Costa Maya. Chacchoben was pretty interesting and Francisco, the tour guide, was pretty knowledgeable and personable. He made everyone feel at ease right away. The food is just ok. The van is pretty spacious and comfortable. Pretty easy to find them and pretty easy to get back to the port afterwards.

Outstanding experience. Clear communication from the very beginning regarding where to find the guide after leaving the cruise ship including text and video instructions. Juan was a fantastic guide. Professional, funny, sincere, always ready to help with pictures and providing interesting information regarding what we were seeing every step of the way. I cannot give a higher recommendation! Visiting the ruins was a wonderful experience and we saw several monkeys that stopped by for some close up pictures. The lagoon was gorgeous and the experience was enhanced with fresh pineapple and mangos served to us by Juan while enjoying the water. Lunch was delicious and provided plenty of tasty food. Drinks and snacks were appreciated as well1 Amazing tour!!!

Easy to book, easy to find, easy to communicate via WhatsApp, safe for female travelers! Tour guide - Juan, Driver- Andres /Perro, and Boat Captain Armando Excelente! Chacchoben and Bacalar Combo tour. Ruins great experience learned a lot, good stop for food very tasty garlic fish tacos, guacamole and Jamaica. My Seester had the cochinita Pipil and Tamarindo. Once full we went off to Bacalar Laguna and the beauty of the water was just awe! Such a great experience w my sister and tour guide. Gracie Andes por las Galletas Acoiris! IYKYK!

We had a great experience on this Chak Ek Costa Maya tour in Costa Maya, Mexico! Carol was really sweet and was waiting for me and my group when we arrived. She was so helpful, kind, and attentive the whole time. Communication was excellent, and she explained everything clearly, which made the experience even better.
