Cebú : Oslob Whale Shark Swimming & Kawasan Falls Canyoneering
Descripción
Las salidas desde la ciudad de Cebú o Mactan son normalmente entre las 3 am y las 4 am. El trayecto abarca aproximadamente 120 km y dura alrededor de 3 horas. Al llegar a Oslob, comenzaremos nuestra actividad de observación de tiburones ballena, donde los huéspedes tendrán la oportunidad de bucear y nadar con estos suaves gigantes (alrededor de 30-45 minutos). Después, los huéspedes pueden disfrutar del desayuno a sus expensas —comidas en silog para grupos más pequeños o una comida estilo pelea de boodle para grupos de 5 o más— antes de dirigirse a Badian para hacer barranquismo. Continuaremos hacia el sitio de barranquismo de las Cataratas Kawasan, donde caminaremos, nos deslizaremos y saltaremos acantilados a través de las piscinas del río turquesa durante aproximadamente 2 a 3 horas. En el punto de partida, los huéspedes pueden optar por agregar una tirolina opcional de 850 metros (cargo adicional), antes de comenzar el descenso a las cascadas. Al final del sendero, un almuerzo local nos estará esperando en el campamento base. Una vez que todos estén listos, comenzaremos nuestro viaje de regreso a la ciudad de Cebú o Mactan, con una llegada prevista alrededor de las 7 pm.

Lugares y horarios de recogida
Espere en el lobby del hotel 5 minutos antes de la hora programada de recogida. La recogida se realiza en la ciudad de Cebú, la ciudad de Mactan Lapu-Lapu y la ciudad de Mandaue. Los conductores no esperarán más de 10 minutos después de la hora de recogida programada.

It was a fun filled trip with lots of good surprises! Having been to Cebu I didn’t expect much but the trip to the south made a huge difference. I like that we can go on our own pace and the driver was very pro active on suggesting things or making an adjustment for us to maximize our time in many of the spots we visited.

Shoutouts to the driver Nataniel i dont know how he's able to drive us to each place in these long hours. As for the experience, at first I was very worried and wasn't sure what to bring or do but the tour guides were very helpful. To pack up for the day, make sure to leave your passport at your hotel somewhere very secure and safe. Ensure to bring: your phone, power bank, wallet with plenty of cash, sunscreen and towel. Wear: t-shirt with swimming trunks and sandles/flipflops/crocs. For the whale shark experience, leave everything in the car (even your phone and wallet)! If you want to film, just rent a GoPro there its very cheap and you can upload it to your phone and pay later after the experience. For the remaining experience, only bring your phone. The tour guides will 100% make sure NOT to drop your phone in the water by mistake, and will take pictures and videos for you! Highly recommended for those who wants to make this a day trip all the way from Cebu city, and will be willing to wake up at 1:30am. Was a great tour to go on thanks to the guides help and our driver Lepar, who did his best to get us between the tours and even stopped to let us get some snacks on the way. Couldn't recommend him enough for the drive.

Challenging experience to do only if you are perfectly fit. Please note the following feedback is not the tour operator'e fault, but the local attraction organisation's. The whale shark encounter was a bit disappointing, too crowded and 1 poor confined by net shark. From the dock there are 10/12 boat for each trip going there and like 100 people altogether in the water trying (sometimes unsuccessfully because of the crowd) to take a picture or swim around it. Maybe a little less profit it could help the animal and the customer too. By 5 am there were already thousands of people. What changed completely the mood was the kawasan falls tour. The driver (always very kind and professional) takes you to the mountain where an amazing team welcomes you with smile and kindness, gives you the necessary and mandatory gear and breafs you before you start. I don't know where to start but in short: zipline (optional but recommended) with incredible view; a little trekking in the untouched nature; dives, natural water slides on the rocks, caves, Jurassic park scenarios, fresh and cold turquoise water (very appreciated considering the temperature and the quite warm water of the ocean) . And last but not least the team: so gentle and kind, one of them kept my phone for the whole journey (4 hours) and took around 100 between pictures and videos. We had and elder with us and one of them stayed all the time next to him making sure he didn't fall and everything was ok; we also had children and they were so attentive and careful. However, if you really want to enjoy as I said above make sure you are fit or at least in a group where mostly are fitI'll give 8/10 and I definitely recommend to try it at least once in your life. Thanks Geronimo and Marlon (sorry to the other guys if I don't remember your names but you were as great as team). PS through your journey you will smell and find scenic little food and drink mini stand allocated literally on the rocks, and don't worry if you don't bring cash with you (for obvious reasons) ; you can pay later. At the end you will also have a cozy Filipino lunch, overseeing the ocean, which is always nice. Keep it up, I'll see you again.
