Hoy en día, Getsemaní conserva su esencia cultural y comunitaria, mezclando historia, arte urbano y vida local. Sus calles coloridas, llenas de murales, plazas y música, lo convierten en un punto turístico muy atractivo, conocido por su ambiente bohemio, su gastronomía típica y su autenticidad cartagenera.
El casco histórico y colonial de la ciudad, declarado Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO. Fue construida entre los siglos XVI y XVIII por los españoles como sistema defensivo contra piratas e invasores, con murallas de piedra, baluartes y fuertes que aún se conservan. Dentro de la ciudad amurallada se encuentran calles empedradas, casas coloniales con balcones floridos, plazas históricas, iglesias y museos. I traveled to Cartagena with my 18-month-old daughter. It was a short trip, but very special, because we wanted her first memory in this city. 💛 Mafe was the one who accompanied us during the tour and I could not be more grateful. Tour operator never showed up. We booked 3 hours before the tour starts but it was confirmed and we went to the spot to wait for half an hour and no one ever showed up. Very unprofessional and unreliable. Waste of my time.

This experience could have been great however, although Christian was such a great person he seemed a bit underwhelming. He shared a tour on Sunday evenings were not the best because things were closed. Why would they have a tour if they know things are closed. We seem to just walk aimlessly without any certain restaurants in mind. Christian did seem to know a lot about the history so that was nice and helpful.
