In the six hours, we were taken out to a popular spot with 24 other boats to fish for salmon for three hours, only reeling in one pink salmon. As we only had a captain, my husband had to be first mate quite frequently. Without a first mate our lines were often occupied with smaller fish being pulled behind or our bait was gone totally. The second half of our tour was in a different spot where there were only four other boats fishing for halibut, but all we caught were dogfish and one very small halibut we had to throw back. The upside of this was that we did see one pod of Dall’s porpoises. My husband and I were quite disappointed by our lack of catch, given the price of renting an entire boat to ourselves. If given the chance we’d wait and go out with a boat in Seward, Alaska rather than in Ketchikan.

Great experience. We caught lots of fish including king salmon. Captain found all the greatest spots to fish. Highly recommend this experience to everyone.

Captain Justin took great care of us. We were a party of 5, including our 6 year old son. I was a little concerned it works be too long for him, but he had a great time. We stayed warm in spite of the rain. The captain taught us a lot about the fishing industry and kept us engaged for the whole 6 hours. It was a great shared experience for our family!

Awesome trip with a great family! Very family oriented, kid friendly and had a great time fishing! Took us to the perfect spot to catch some big salmon!

Our crew was great- very professional but also fun and engaging. Our only complaint was that we didn't catch anything so it was pretty disappointing, but obviously that is not the crew's fault. No one was catching anything out there that day.

Moses was an amazing Captain and guide. He was personable and knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. I can’t say enough positive things about him. I’m guessing you’re going to ask. Did we catch any fish? The answer is no, but no other charters that we spoke with that day (at least six of them) had any luck either. That’s fishing though, no guarantees, even with the best efforts. We did however see plenty of whales and porpoises while we tried. If you do book with this company, request Moses, you’ll be happy you did - even if the fish are elusive.

We had the best day out on the water fishing. Our captain, Justin, was so friendly, interesting, and knowledgeable. The boat was very clean. We saw lots of eagles while moving about. Best part was the big king salmon we brought in. We all want to come back to Ketchikan abd go fishing with Justin. This day far exceeded our expectations. It was awesome!

I was in Ketchikan with my husband and son on 06/02/2026 enjoying the Private Ketchikan Halibut and Salmon excursion below, BR-1350336855 . Reggie and Josh are true fishermen. Their skills were fruitful with my son bringing in a 20#+ king salmon! Reggie answered any questions prior and after the excursion. He even sent me the link to get temporary fishing license and stamps ahead of arrival. I completed the paperwork needed to have the fish shipped back home. The company used for the processing held our fish in the deep freezer to overnight ship on 06/09/2026. And just like clockwork the fish arrived on 06/10/2026. William was excellent. Wonderful business to deal with. Loved the boat as there was an area to go inside and stay warm or dry. Highly recommend.
