¡Experimenta la caminata de guía por el glaciar Mendenhall, una emocionante aventura de 6 a 7 millas! Su viaje comienza con una caminata de 3 millas a través del Bosque Nacional Tongass, la selva templada más grande del mundo. Su guía experimentado lo guiará a través de este desierto, sinuoso más allá de los estanques de castores y revolviendo el terreno glacial expuesto, donde el sendero se desvanece en la naturaleza. Al salir del bosque y llegar a la cresta final, será recibido por la impresionante vista de la fachada irregular del glaciar Mendenhall y su río de hielo. Situado a solo 12 millas del centro de Juneau, Alaska. Es el único glaciar del sureste de Alaska accesible por carretera. Famoso por su brillante hielo azul y sus icebergs de parto, es un destino privilegiado para practicar senderismo, observar la vida silvestre y explorar cuevas de hielo.

La señal "C", ubicada cerca de los muelles de cruceros directamente entre Mt. Roberts Tramway y el edificio verde Taku Smokeries, es nuestro lugar de encuentro centralizado en el centro para todos los clientes en el centro de la ciudad, incluida la mayoría de los pasajeros de cruceros. Los clientes que se alojen en los principales hoteles del Valle de Mendenhall pueden ser recogidos directamente de su hotel. Los clientes con su propio transporte deben comunicarse con nuestra oficina para concertar un lugar de reunión.

- La edad mínima es de 10 años. Para familias con niños de entre 8 y 9 años, podemos personalizar un viaje privado.
- Todos los clientes deben estar en buena forma, acondicionados y capaces de caminar hasta 4 horas, cubriendo aproximadamente 7 millas de ida y vuelta.
- Los clientes deben usar botas de montaña resistentes que brinden un buen soporte para los tobillos mientras caminan por terrenos rocosos e irregulares. Todos los clientes deberán caminar con una mochila durante todo el recorrido en este viaje.
- Debido a los riesgos inherentes involucrados, no permitimos que participantes embarazadas participen.
- Este recorrido no incluye caminatas por el glaciar ni exploración alrededor del borde del glaciar, pero llevará a los grupos a la vista del glaciar.
- No se puede garantizar una cantidad específica de tiempo en el área de observación del glaciar. La cantidad de tiempo depende del ritmo del grupo y de las condiciones climáticas.
- Con las salidas de grupos intentamos maximizar nuestra capacidad de viaje y, posteriormente, es posible que necesitemos modificar el horario para acomodar a clientes adicionales. Si el horario de salida de su viaje cambia, se lo notificaremos lo antes posible.
- Los clientes deben revelar información sobre condiciones/historial médico pertinente, alergias y cualquier tipo de restricción o limitación que pueda introducir un mayor grado de desafío en este viaje.
- Se cobrará una tarifa de rescate de $250 por cliente por cualquier rescate basado en la incapacidad del cliente para completar la caminata debido a condiciones/limitaciones médicas no reveladas o un nivel insuficiente de aptitud física que inhibe significativamente el ritmo del grupo.

Had a fantastic time hiking with Reina in a small group of 8 on the 23 June. She is very personable and managed to make everyone feel very welcomed while keeping us safe, sharing her knowledge and making sure no one gets left behind. Great humour and wonderful group altogether. It was great to get away from the busy tourist towns to experience this. There are some rock scrambling towards the end but Reina gave great instructions and made it an easier experience. Loved the encouraging high fives she gives at the end of a climb. The bonus was having a group that hiked quickly that we get to spend 30 mins at the peninsula before hiking back.

Enjoyed a great hike to Mendenhall Glacier, Katie and Reyna were our guides and they were the most positive, happy and helpful guides ever! It was really beautiful and not a hard 6 mile (total) hike. The four of us are in our 60's and it was completely fine, if you're in decent shape. Would highly recommend it. Did not walk on the glacier (this part was a bit confusing to us), but decided we were actually good with that.

We did the Mendenhall Glacier Guides Choice Trail with Hailee on August 30th. Hailee was absolutely great she had great information on the landscape and Glacier, she was very personable and to my amazement learned everyone's name in the group. She also took the time to take as many pictures as we wanted. Great experience would highly recommend.

This is a hard hike but so worth it. The guide Heather was so good at telling you where to place your feet and hands when it comes to the scrambling part. Heather was informative about the area, knew the answers to all of our questions. Highly recommend if you want quite a challenge to reach views like no other.

Great hike with our informative and helpful guide Randy. Nice views and photo opps. Nice smallish group, which meant there was time to ask questions. Recommend waterproof boots as it is a good track but wet !
