The gardens were beautiful but the rest was pretty bad. If you can, rent a car and take yourself. 14 hours this took. Most of which spent on an 80 degree bus where we could not hear our tour guide (who was very nice). No water provided. Our time in Victoria was almost an hour shorter than it should have been so we missed a lot of things we wanted to see. Less than 2 hours at the gardens was not enough time.
Butchart Gardens absolutely gorgeous and Victoria visit was nice. Travel from Vancouver to Vancouver Island less than enjoyable with traffic, crowded ferry and some delays. 14 hours from start to finish was a long day. Ryan the guide was good, but some matters were beyond his control.
Fabulous day with terrific commentary and personalized tips from our guide. The Butchart Gardens are unmatched for unique displays and variety.
Great tour. Make sure to pack lunch, otherwise you will spend time in line on the ferry to get food or look for food in Viktoria instead of doing sightseeing. You get around two hours of free time in Viktoria which is not enough, but if it’s your first visit it will you give you an idea about the town. Gardens are great, you can take a lot of great photos there. The guide was amazing, great sense of humor - truly highlight of the trip. Kudos to Renee! Thank you!
Ken was a great guide. He was very organized and communicated well. He was prompt and on time and eager to share information and facts during our tour. The time in the Butchart garden was adequate and the same for Victoria. It was an awesome day.

Great experience. This is a long day but worth every minute from the bus ride to the ferry touring Victoria and Butchart Gardens it is a must do! Our guide Rene was so funny and welcoming. He made the whole experience come alive.

A great day tour to Victoria and the renowned Butchart Gardens. Rebecca, from Discover Canada Tours was driver and guide - a fun, warm and friendly personality. It's a long day but well broken up with the ferry ride, driving tour of Victoria, free time in the town centre and the Butchart Gardens on the homeward leg. As we had been to Victoria before (but not the gardens) and it was quite wet, we adjourned for lunch the the Bard and Banker in Government Street, a beautiful building with a fascinating history and an excellent food and drink menu. Despite the weather, the Butchart Gardens were beautiful. Umbrellas are supplied, there's a cafe, restaurant and an excellent gift shop. A ferry ride back and thanks to Rebecca for driving most competently through the storm on the homeward leg.
Rene our guide was outstanding showing appropriate knowledge and excellent sense of humour with funny jokes throughout the day. We have seen many beautiful gardens in our life but Bouchard Garden is the best by far. Must see if visiting Vancouver.
