Great tour, great guide -- highly recommend

Fantastic tour! A great overview of the women's suffrage movement and Boston's role in it. I'm familiar with Back Bay, but this tour made me look at it through a different lens. Maura was an incredible guide -- extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic about the subject, and just a pleasant companion for the walk. Kudos to Hub Town Tour for putting this together -- the Boston Women's Heritage Trail doesn't get the attention it deserves. Take this tour now!

Respuesta del operador

Wow, thank you for this fantastic review and five stars for Maura! We're thrilled to know not only that you enjoyed the history of Boston's fight for votes for women, but also that you got that new lens on the beautiful Back Bay neighborhood. Maura is a superb local historian--and history graduate student--and also wonderful company. We appreciate the kudos, as Hub Town Tours is proud to share this important part of our city's history!

Highlight of our trip to Boston!

Kaitlin did an excellent job! Made the tour fun and was able to answer our questions! We did their Freedom Trail tour the day prior with Ted and immediately signed up for the Women’s Suffrage tour the next day. I would definitely book with Hub Town again, definitely a must do if you’re in Boston!

Respuesta del operador

Wow, thank you so much for five stars for Kaitlin, and for sharing your whole Hub Town Tours experience! We love being your "must do" and hope you will join us again: we cover three Revolutions in Boston, the other being Abolition and the Underground Railroad on historic Beacon Hill! Kaitlin is an excellent historian, passionate about sharing Boston's Suffrage effort to gain votes for women, and about sharing the beautiful, historic Back Bay. She brings a performer's talents to her stories and loves to answer questions. We're very happy you had two great experiences on our tours.

Fantastic tour

My friend and I had a fantastic time on this tour in August 2026. Zoe met us promptly at the public gardens in Boston, and from there we proceeded on a several hour tour of Boston that was both rich in history as well as enjoyable in scenery. Zoe's knowledge of suffragette history in New England was impressive, inclusive, and detailed. Zoe lives in Boston and has intimate knowledge and great enthusiasm for the city, which really shines through on the tour. We had an enjoyable time walking through the Boston public gardens, Back Bay neighborhoods, visiting the houses of prominent activists, visiting the beautiful Boston public library, and walking through a farmers markets. Great blend of lecture, walking, viewing, and resting along the way.

Fascinating walking tour

We were thoroughly impressed with this interesting and informative tour. We have lived in Boston for about 30 years, and we feel like we know the city and its history fairly well. This tour, however, opened our eyes to a whole layer of history with which we were mostly unfamiliar. We are very grateful to have the new insights that our knowledgeable guide Zoe provided with such clarity, enthusiasm, and intelligence. The emphasis on concepts such as "the political is domestic, the domestic is political" and the difficulty of maintaing coalitions are important not only to the evolution of the women's suffrage debate but also--without question--to the painful issues that face us in the current day. Thank you for this tour which was very meaningful and inspiring for us and which we are encouraging our friends to take as well.

Respuesta del operador

We are thrilled to know you found her stories important and inspiring, and we so appreciate your recommending this tour!

Awesome tour!!

We absolutely loved our tour! Our tour guide, Zoe, was so knowledgeable and enthusiastic. The tour was a great length and the weather was perfect for walking around Boston! We all learned so much about the women of Boston that influenced the suffrage movement. I would definitely recommend this tour to everyone!

Respuesta del operador

Thank you so much for this excellent review of Zoe's tour! Our Votes for Women tour focuses on the struggle for equal rights during the late-19th and early 20th centuries, a struggle which eventually led to the passage of the 19th Amendment in 1920. These stories remain so relevant today, and we're thrilled you enjoyed hearing them with Zoe!
