Beautiful, peaceful, serene space. Plenty of places to sit and relax, in the sun and in the shade. Lovely sculptures, hammocks and water features. 2 hours is plenty to see most of the garden. We got the free ANIMA shuttle from Marrakech to ANIMA at 0930, return at 1300. The return trip in the afternoon was insane. 54oC inside the van. A full shuttle with 18pax, including 3 children who almost passed out from the heat. The van had no working air-conditioning, even though we were told it was working and we just had to wait for it to come on. 3 times several pax asked the driver to please turn it up, or wind down the front windows (no opening windows anywhere else). Eventually he wound the windows down, however the pax in the front passenger seat found it too windy so she wound it back up again.... Disappointing, almost deathly end to a lovely morning.
Dear visitor, Thank you for your review and for your kind words about the garden. We are pleased to hear that you found ANIMA beautiful, peaceful and relaxing. At the same time, we are very sorry to learn about your experience on the return shuttle journey. The conditions you describe are clearly not acceptable and do not reflect the level of service we expect for our visitors. Please note that the shuttle service is operated by an external transportation company. Nevertheless, we have immediately raised this matter with their management and requested a thorough investigation of both the vehicle’s air-conditioning system and the handling of the situation by the driver. The comfort and safety of our guests are of utmost importance to us, particularly during periods of extreme heat. Your feedback has been taken very seriously and will help us ensure that corrective measures are implemented. We sincerely apologize for the disappointing end to what was otherwise an enjoyable visit and hope to have the opportunity to welcome you again under much better circumstances. Kind regards, your TEAM ANIMA
Great garden and very beautiful art by André Heller. Highly recommended, few visitors. 100 times better than Maiorelle Garden, which is just for tourists. The Amina Garden is a dream.
ANIMA Garden is easily one of the best hidden gems just outside Marrakech. It’s the perfect half-day trip down Route de l'Ourika. The garden is filled with amazing exotic plants and incredible sculptures by world-famous artists. It is much bigger, quieter, and more relaxed than Jardin Majorelle, making it the perfect place to take stunning photos without the crowds. The paths are very clean and flat, and the whole place just feels magical. Highly recommend taking a private drive or booking the shuttle out here for a fresh breath of air!
Utterly stunning gardens with fun, playful sculptures throughout. The facilities are top notch too. Gorgeous rooftop terrace with views to the Atlas Mountains. The free shuttle bus from the Koutoubia Mosque was perfect and after l took unwell due to the heat the lovely driver went above and beyond to help, he drove me close to my hotel after l fainted. Despite this l had a brilliant experience and its not a mobbed attraction like so many in Marrakech, a perfect afternoon away from the chaos that is the Medina!
Lovely tranquil place amongst the chaos, but don’t take the morning free shuttle as too , afternoon with shorter time would have been better. Great if have own transport
The garden is an absolute must when visiting Marrakech! Art, nature, oases of peace are perfectly combined! André Heller has created something great! The highlight was a short relaxed conversation with the artist and his partner!
... sends his regards and of course the master André Heller himself, namely in the form of his own garden Eden. An oasis of peace, full of natural beauty and exquisite taste. Behind every bend, a new surprise awaits. Moving through a wonderfully fragrant, green environment, you can’t wait to discover every detail this wonderful place has to offer. The two to three hours pass like a flight – actually far too short before the shuttle bus leaves again. Personally, I could have easily spent the whole day there. Perhaps it is even a blessing that this beautiful place is located just outside Marrakech. This keeps the number of visitors pleasantly manageable and the garden is never crowded. Luckily, you don’t have to book slots here just to avoid the crowds. And the photo motifs are self-evident in this magnificent garden. You often don't even know where to pull out the camera or mobile phone first. Everywhere new perspectives open up, and you can let your imagination run wild when designing the shots. There is also a nicely designed cafe-restaurant with absolutely fair prices. There you can enjoy typical Moroccan food. However, I only had one coffee myself, as ordering a meal would probably have taken too long – and I couldn’t risk missing the last shuttle bus at 5:30 p.m. The small shuttle bus, which unfortunately can only carry about 20 people each, requires timely online registration – ideally one to two days in advance. Departure point is the parking lot behind the Koutoubia Mosque. Travel time: approx. 40 minutes. The entrance ticket is not a requirement for using the shuttle. You can easily purchase it after arrival on site at the cash desk and also pay cash. Go there, you'll love this place.
I took a taxi for 200 MAD (about £16 as of feb 26) to the gardens which is about a 20 minute drive from Marrakesh. The garden is lovely with waist high paths here and there with soft lavender and rosemary that you can brush your hands along releasing the aromas, nooks and cranny’s with hammmocks or sculptures or art installations. The birds were singing and it was a quiet restful place. There is a small water area, cacti patch, bamboo and other sections. The gardeners are very dedicated! If you look carefully you find the resident tortoise! At the small cafe with cushions and benches, on the upper level you have a gorgeous view of the mountains encased in snow! There is also a little shop with brightly coloured home made items. Suggest to bring local cash for entry, 150 if I remember correctly. I booked a taxi to collect me but there is a bus but it’s first come first serve…recommend.
After a good morning to visit and walk in the medina, a relaxing moment in the afternoon in this garden free shuttle (but don’t forget to book in advance) with its areas of shade, freshness, seats, hammocks, picturesque works.Don’t come to learn the name of plants, know the meaning of sculptures, just come to stroll. Rooftop with nice view of the Atlas.
Highly recommend, great place to go to escape the hustle and bustle of Marrakesh. This tranquil place is a wonderful heaven of surprises as you walk around. Beautiful garden ! Fantastic views of the Atlas mountains, and not many people around which makes it highly enjoyable. Don’t miss out the caffe at the end of your visit: an amazing place to enjoy a mint tea or a salad (great quality food) overlooking the gardens or on the roof top terrace for breathtaking views. This is 25km away from Marrakesh so you would have to organise transport but it’s easily done. There are free shuttles going there or you can book a ‘Grand Taxi’ for 400 MAR return with your driver waiting for you there. Totally worth it !
