Body Worlds Amsterdam Entrada

This is a superb exhibition if you are interested in the human body and anatomy. It was so fascinating and informative. Easy to find in the heart of Amsterdam. There are six level which are walked through all about the human body (disabled access for wheelchairs is excellent) . We also got the audio guide which was worth it and gave you some extra insight. This exhibition is a must see and highly recommended.

I have wanted to visit a body worlds for many years and was blown away by the plastinates on show. It is an excellent exhibition and very educational. The only down side was that there was no programme or educational materials to purchase at the end.

A truly very interesting visit! I particularly appreciated the scientific approach of the museum, especially the parallel between diseases and well-being, with a reflection on health and happiness. Because of my profession, I did not necessarily learn a huge amount, but seeing the human body in such an explicit way gives a very concrete and impressive vision of how it functions. Contrary to what one might imagine, the visit is never creepy or unhealthy: everything is presented with a genuine educational and scientific approach. The museum is clean, well-organized, and large enough to spend 2 to 2.5 hours there if you take the time to read everything. Small downside: several interactive installations were out of order (impedance scales, swings, blood pressure cuffs...), which is a shame and deserves to be replaced. The museum seems suitable for a fairly wide audience, even if children must be accompanied. Biology, science, or medicine enthusiasts will certainly get even more out of it... The most conservative or easily shocked minds might have a less enjoyable time! 😄 For me, it is clearly a must-do visit in Amsterdam.

Great exhibition. Top tip from friend who had visited before was to get the audio guide to save lots of reading. Partner is dyslexic so this made a great difference.

Really loved visiting the Body Worlds museum in Amsterdam!! It was honestly one of the most fascinating and unusual museums I’ve ever been to — although walking into a museum filled with actual real human bodies and body parts was definitely a little surreal at first 🤣. There was SO much to see and learn about, and I loved being able to see what different parts of the human body actually look like rather than just reading about them in a textbook. I also got to learn about different diseases and actually compare parts of the body affected by a disease with healthy ones, which I found SO interesting! It made it much easier to understand what the disease actually does to the body rather than just reading about it. It also turned out to be some rather useful Biology revision — because apparently even going on holiday doesn’t completely protect you from schoolwork 🤣! So, it was incredibly educational without ever feeling boring, as there were loads of interactive exhibits along the way too. You could even have your BMI measured, which was included in the ticket and was actually quite interesting to do! I also really liked how spread out everything was. Each section focused on something different, so there was plenty of space to stop and actually look at everything properly without feeling rushed — which was probably quite useful considering some of the exhibits required a few seconds to process what exactly I was looking at 🤣. The atmosphere was great too; it was really quiet and relaxed, which made it much easier to take everything in. The staff were also absolutely lovely and really friendly, which made the whole experience even nicer! Although I could spend however long we wanted, I spent approximately 2 hours there, which I thought was a really good amount of time. It gave me plenty of time to properly explore all the different sections and interactive exhibits without having to rush through everything. Some of the exhibits were definitely rather strange to look at, but that was also what made the museum so interesting and memorable! It’s completely different from a typical museum and certainly not something you see every day… which is probably a good thing in the case of some of the body parts 🤣. However, the tickets were quite expensive, which was probably the only downside. Though, considering how much there was to see and how unusual the whole experience was, I definitely think it was worth the money; so I’ll forgive them for that 🤣. Overall, I found it absolutely fascinating, really educational and SO interesting!! Definitely worth visiting if you’re in Amsterdam and interested in the human body; although perhaps not one for anyone particularly squeamish 🤣. Would 100% recommend!!
