Bike the Burgh Tour

This activity was alot of fun you cover alot of the city and learn some history. The tour guide truly enjoys his job.

Bike the Burgh Neighborhood Gems tour was an awesome experience, revealing some amazing sites in Pittsburgh's neighborhoods on or near the North Side - Mexican War Streets, Randyland, Manchester, Bicycle Heaven, along the rivers, stadiums, bridges and more. Biking is a great way to see these neighborhoods and side streets. Our guide, Dave, was a fountain of historical, cultural, architectural, and Pittsburgh knowledge. He'll go as deep as you want into this or just scratch the surface with some fun and interesting factoids. He was also personable, funny, patient, and flexible with all our questions and stops along the way. The bikes are new, in great condition, and very easy to use. Scheduling our tour was also easy and convenient, as we did have some concerns about weather and logistics. Very highly recommended operator, tour guides, and bikes! Their enthusiasm about Pittsburgh is contagious. We've been on city bike tours in Paris, New Orleans, San Francisco, Savannah, and Chicago and this ranks with the best of them!

There are hills and you will ride on streets with traffic. Just a heads up 😀. Our guide, Doug, was fabulous. Personable, charming, knowledgeable and funny. We learned sooooo much about the history of Pittsburgh, from its founding to current day. The tour takes about 3 hours, and has many stops along the way. Lots of opportunities to take photos. Bring your own water and sunglasses. There is a small bag on the front of the bike to store your water, cell phone, etc. Biking the Burgh has the highlight of our trip to Pittsburgh so far.

This is our second tour with the company We started with the walking tour and two days later had the pleasure of joining our Tour guide Kane on excellent bicycles for a three hour bike ride through the cultural and downtown districts and on the north and South Shore of the river. It was beautiful scenic and interesting. Can do all the great spots to stop and sit with shade as he discussed some important historical issues in Pittsburgh history having to deal with the socioeconomic evolution of the city and how they combat the dark period of heavy industrialization and pollution with a renaissance of urban renewal to make it the pleasant city is today. Kane is Smart witty Tour Guide who made it really interesting for us and deepen our appreciation of the urban renewal effort in Pittsburgh. I would highly recommend this toward anyone and it was really great to get some exercise along the way.. did I already say that the bikes they use are fantastic?

We rode around the "Burgh" with Doug! What a treat. Some businesses would have cancelled our ride since we were the only participants. This company did not. We spent 3 hours doing relatively easy bike ride. Their new bikes have gear shift that you simply twist to make the ride easier or harder, and no more bike chains. Wow! Doug clearly enjoyed sharing his city and as former teacher, he knew how to engage us. He was also so thoughtful about explaining the next set of turns to get to our next stop. Saw everything we wanted to see and felt safe biking around the Burgh!!

Perfect way to see the city! Great exercise and up close views along the river. Kane our guide was awesome. We saw all the neighborhoods and learned a lot about Pittsburgh’s history.

I did the three rivers sunset walking tour. The tour was great and the guide, Alan, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and personable. We walked at a comfortable pace and sunset is a beautiful time. I learned a lot about Pittsburgh. I recommend this to anyone who likes scenic views, history, and/architecture. Can’t wait to tell my wife and son all about it!!

My will be attending Pitt next month and we were visiting for a few days to get him acclimated to his new home. I thought it might be fun to do a bike tour that includes a lot of history of the city he will be calling home the next four years. We were not disappointed! Daniel was an excellent guide who was a font of information about Pittsburgh and exceedingly friendly. It was three hours well spent and a great value.
