Es importante saber que recogemos a todos antes de iniciar el recorrido. Por favor llegue a recepción 10 minutos antes. Por favor contáctenos si su hotel o dirección no está en la lista. No tenemos embarque en Barra y Recreio. No tenemos servicio de recogida por la tarde en el centro. Si se aloja en un hotel, tenemos un punto de encuentro en el Botafogo Praia Shopping a las 13:30.

Absolutely fantastic—one of the best tours we’ve done. A huge thank you to Aline, who was incredibly friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer all of our questions. She really made the experience even more enjoyable. If you’re concerned about the ethical side of visiting a favela, this tour is thoughtfully run. Rather than focusing on poverty, it highlights the community’s culture, entrepreneurship, resilience, and the inspiring ways residents are building their lives. Safety was also handled very well throughout the tour. The guide checked in and out at designated checkpoints, carried out regular head counts, and made sure everyone stayed together. We felt safe the entire time. One thing to be aware of is that the tour passes through an area where drug trafficking is present, and you may see people carrying firearms or openly handling drugs. While this was managed safely as part of the guided route and we never felt threatened, it can be confronting. Because of that, I’d personally recommend the tour for ages 15+ rather than younger children. At the end of the tour, you also have the option to ride a motorbike down the hill for an extra R$10. It was such a fun experience and absolutely worth it. I couldn’t recommend this tour more. If you’re deciding between options—choose this one!
