Our tour guide had a great personality, but some of the food stops weren’t uniquely Anchorage. We didn’t see much wildlife on the tour, but it a good drive around town and the inlet, listening to someone who is a true Alaskan.
Had the BEST time with Chef Luke !! He really knows the area and the BEST food places to eat !! We learned SO MUCH about Anchorage !!!

Chef Luke is a great guide. We had rainy weather which was a bummer but we didn’t need sunshine for this tour. It was a good mix of humor, great food, and other sights. We had a few disruptions that were out of everyone’s control and the guide pivoted well. We saw great things that we wouldn’t have otherwise seen. Thanks for a great time!

Amazing food and experience- thanks to Chef Luke! Tour starts with award winning diner and we were eating great food throughout- pastries, ice cream, and ended up with cod tacos!

We weren’t sure what to expect, but let me tell you, we were not disappointed!!! Luke, our guide, was awesome and took us to some restaurants and a bakery that were amazing!!! The food was delicious and the tour went all over Anchorage so we got to see many aspects of the city. We chose the tour via van, which was perfect because it rained the entire time of our tour. My 13 year old grandson and I took this tour, and Luke kept us entertained and told us stories/facts about Anchorage and Alaska. I appreciate that Luke interacted with my grandson and made him feel part of the tour. If you’re ever in Anchorage, be sure to take this tour; you’ll be glad you did.

The tour has very little to do with good food. The emphasis is on driving to see wildlife. This of course is hit or miss, and was a miss for our group. Our guide was very impressed with himself. He did not have the group introduce ourselves, he only wanted to go on about himself. The food: first stop for milk shake + fried chicken ok, a very delicious bakery, more ice cream and last stop for fish taco — was terrible. At nearly $200 / person was EXTREMELY disappointed. I do NOT recommend. Later that day tried one of the places recommended by guide and that was not good either. The van was comfortable. This tour has potential but was a miss for us. We booked through viator.com. We have booked other tours through them and had great experiences.

While wildlife sightings are always unpredictable and never guaranteed, the tour should still feel well-balanced between Anchorage history, scenic stops, local stories, and food. It is disappointing to hear that the experience felt too focused on searching for wildlife and not enough on the food and city itself. We also appreciate your comments about the guide. We do hire guides with big personalities who enjoy sharing stories and their own experiences of life in Alaska, but the focus should always remain on the guests, Anchorage, and the overall tour experience. We’ll be reviewing this feedback with our team. Food stops can vary by day and restaurant availability, but every stop should feel thoughtful and worthwhile. We’re sorry that several of the food items and even a later recommendation did not meet your expectations. We appreciate you recognizing that the tour has potential, and we’ll use your comments as we continue working to improve the balance, pacing, and food experience for future guests.
So much fun! It was great to see the highlights of Anchorage (a lovely place) and to snack our way through the city with some delicious treats. More food than I was expecting!
