This is a great experience for cheese lovers! Our guide, Isaac, was highly knowledgable and really patient with us, as we were a group of 8 women. He was super fun and you should absolutely do this trip! (bring your lactaid!)
The tour was pretty good and Isaac was a great host. It was a bit difficult to hear him as there were 12 people and his voice was sometimes not loud enough to hear everything he was saying. Also, he had to conduct the tour in 2 separate languages which made each stop a little longer because of having to say everything twice. He was patient and thorough. While I enjoyed the lunch, it may be helpful to advise the lunch is pre selected and the tour participants had no say in the selection. It might be better to offer a choice or to tell the attendees before the tour what the selection is. I also thought that the tour was a “food” tour but we seemed to spend more time talking about history than focusing on the food. Just something that should be explained in the description of the tour.
We always love food tours and this one didn't disappoint. Always enjoy learning habits of other cultures, visiting new towns, meeting people and tasting the local food. This did not disappoint.
The guide was very nice but I expected more on the history of old Annecy. The food was good. The reason I am giving 3⭐️ is because this tour is overpriced for what we get. Three of the stops offer free tasting of their products if you ask them.
Great experience with a lovely guide where local food artisans were combined with a bit of sightseeing. We enjoyed tasting some truffle products, ate a very delicious tartiflette lunch, enjoyed some cheese tasting with a glass of wine, tried locally made preserves including some unusual flavours and had a delicious dessert of our choice with our lovely guide Sylvie! We were lucky to be in a friendly group of 8 in total.
First off, I would like to say that this is not a bad reflection on the tour guide, who was very personable, but on the tour itself. The description was a misrepresentation of what we experienced on the tour. 1. The pictures shown (as well as the description) included a charcuterie tasting that we did not receive. The description also includes wines(plural) and we only received one tasting of aa small pour from an already opened bottle split between 12 people. 2. 2/5 stops were simply free samples that anyone walking off the street could also enjoy for no charge. These were also not specific to Annecy. 3. If you add up everything that we ate over the course of the tour, which was maybe 25-30 euros worth of food, which is upsetting considering it was the most expensive food tour on our trip at over $160 usd per person.
Our experience with Sylvie, our guide, was outstanding. She was a wealth of knowledge and clearly passionate about introducing us to Annecy’s exceptional culinary shops. We sampled a variety of truffles, delicious jams, cheeses, and desserts, and enjoyed a traditional French lunch in one of the smallest restaurants I’ve ever eaten in. Highly recommend!
It's a good walking tour with some good information on Annecy. A few food stops but minimal tasting. Suggest integrating food markets fr a better experience.
We loved this beautiful city very clean with bike paths, footpaths around the lake allowing very nice walks. The surrounding mountains are also beautiful with beautiful hikes. We made a paragliding flight. Extraordinary experience with magnificent views. It's all great experiences.
How to combine useful with pleasant. Make a visit while eating. Although I expected more information about the city....the tour was in line with what we wanted to see
