Wonderful Turkish bath experience

A wonderful Turkish bath experience. Everything was exceptional from when we arrived. A very authentic Turkish bath with incredible facilities. The staff were highly skilled - the Turkish scrub and foam bath were so relaxing and definitely something to experience whilst in Istanbul. We look forward to returning!

Tour of historic sights and local markets

Picked up at hotel at 8:00 am. Guide was very cordial and spoke about the sights in English. Took the train downtown. ( need card for train cost) Went to a variety of sights that were listed on the tour. Was impressed by the cleanliness of the sights and the magnificent historical landmarks. Definitely worth the time. Met a carpet maker and learned how to pick a good or best hand made carpets. Learned that carpets could be shipped to your house and taxes were covered by their government. Drank Turkish coffee and ate deserts. . Later in the tour taken to see hand made pottery by local artists. Walked thru area where some famous American movies were made. Caught a train to the spice markets and had lunch with guide before heading back to hotel. Fabulous tour and would highly recommend signing up for the experience.

Incredible Hammam at one of the oldest Hammam’s!

This was our first time in a Hammam. I took my teen son as well - it was amazing for both of us! Can’t recommend this enough - if in Istanbul you have to do this - and in one of Turkyie’s oldest Hammam’s makes it so special!

Thanks for the fractured rib....AVOID

Turkey is not the cheap destination it used to be. My girlfriend and I splashed out on a hammam. Compared with hammam I have had in the provinces (Fatsa, Trabzon), it felt rushed (crammed into about an hour) and very expensive (6600 Turkish lira). The massage was brisk and when invited to lie face down, the masseuse applied such a downward force that one of my upper ribs was fractured. Only confirmed by a doctor when I arrived in Azerbaijan for a job. There was a massive 'crunch' as the guy forced down on my back. Otherwise, it was a nice experience. But I reckon health and safety should come first at a hammam.

Dear Pratt, I think you made comment to wrong hamam, Ağa Hamamı in Istanbul City , we are not in Fatsa ,Trabzon city, however Ağa Hamamı is not much expensive ,Ağa Hamamı price is 2800 TL 6600 TL is very expensive price for hamam

Best traditional Turkish Hamam experience!

The Aga Hamam was an unforgettable experience for my husband and myself. The staff were very informative of what to do. We both felt comfortable. It is an amazing bath. The hot marble slabs to lay on feel so good! Everything was so relaxing and invigorating! If I lived here I would get one every month!!

Definite yes!

This was a great experience! I've visited other hammams and this was by far the best. Authentic feel, wonderful warm stone and the scrub was thorough! We chose the massage and face mask package. The massage was good; you can skip the face mask. They just painted your face and left you to dry and wash it off yourself. This experience was on the pricier side, but you get what you pay for, and I think it was worth it. We were at the spa for about 2 hours. We had appointments so it was not crowded, and we began our experience immediately. Overall, I give it five stars and would come here again.
