Had a great time on the Legacy of Northalsted tour with Rene! He does a fantastic job weaving together architecture, neighborhood history, and the rich history of Chicago’s LGBTQ+ community in a way that’s engaging and easy to follow. I learned so much about how Northalsted became one of the Chicago’s proudest LGBTQ+ neighborhoods saw places I’ve walked by for years in a whole new light. Highly recommend this tour for both locals and visitors! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thank you for the terrific review! We are delighted that you enjoyed the Legacy of Northalsted tour and appreciate the 5 stars. We hope to see you again the next time you visit Chicago!

Lit tours are our specialty. 🔥 We’re thrilled you had such a great tour and appreciate the 5 stars!
We had an excellent tour guide Emily. Learned lots on the tour of the architecture along the river. She was most knowledgeable. It was a beautiful sunny day and the boat was perfect.
Charles gave a very good tour. As a former city planner, he was knowledgeable and had a few anecdotes along the way.
Thank you for the fantastic review! We're so happy you enjoyed the Historic Treasures tour and hope to see you again!
Had an excellent Treasures of Chicago's Golden Age tour with Charles through the Chicago Architectural Center. Highly recommend this tour for a great overview of some of Chicago's great buildings. Our guide added quite a few additional spots along the way.
Thank you for the great review! We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the Treasures of Chicago’s Golden Age tour and found it to be a strong overview of some of the city’s most iconic buildings. We’re glad the route offered even more highlights along the way. We appreciate the recommendation and hope to welcome you on another CAC tour soon!
This tour was entertaining and informative. We learned a lot about major architectural themes and trends but also discovered many intriguing details about some of Chicago's most fascinating buildings. Tour guide Michelle Pittman was great. She spoke clearly, kept up a good pace, and was very interactive--taking our questions and sharing her extensive knowledge all along the way.
Thank you for the terrific review! We're so happy you enjoyed the Modernism tour with Michelle and appreciated her knowledge, pacing, and personality. We hope to see you on more tours soon!
We had a great experience on the Pedway tour with Alice. She was very knowledgeable and shared lots of interesting facts, all with a great sense of humor that made the tour fun and engaging. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to learn about Chicago’s history while also getting useful, practical information on how to navigate the city—especially when it’s cold, hot, rainy, or snowy, since the Pedway connects so much of downtown. One thing to be aware of: there are quite a few stairs in some areas, and not all locations have elevators or escalators.
Thank you for the thoughtful review! We’re glad you found the Pedway tour both informative and practical and that it made navigating downtown Chicago feel a little easier in every kind of weather. We also appreciate you noting the stairs, as that’s helpful for future guests. We hope to see you on another CAC tour soon!
We did a pedestrian tour with CAC and was able to use that for admission into the Chicago architecture center. It’s was nice. Had a video of Chicago and a nice mini replica of city and Wrigley field. The exhibit upstairs was really interesting.. “ The disappointed tourist” by Ellen Harvey
Thanks for visiting the Chicago Architecture Center and for your review. We’re glad you found the tour, the galleries, and The Disappointed Tourist exhibition interesting and enjoyed the overall experience. We hope to see you again the next time you visit Chicago!
Last week my partner and I took a tour of the Pedway with Alice and we had such a great time! We've lived in Chicago for over a year, and use the Pedway regularly, but learned so much throughout the tour. Alice was so great with her pacing, keeping us moving, always asking if there are questions, and seemed genuinely tickled to be leading us. The group was intimate, just 7 people and Alice, and very kind and respectful. Everyone that wanted to ask questions had time to ask them. This was our second walking tour with the Chicago Architecture Center and we've loved them so much that we've decided to become members in the new year. We are so lucky that this is a part of our city and can't wait to take friends and family when they are in town. One note for those who are talking the Pedway tour: wear light layers! We were dressed for a cold Chicago day and had to shlep our coats and sweaters around... we should have thought that through!
What a joy to read, thank you for the lovely review! The Pedway is full of surprises, even for longtime Chicagoans, and we’re so glad the docent's pacing, enthusiasm, and knowledge made the experience engaging and welcoming for everyone. We’re honored to be part of your Chicago story and thrilled you’re joining us as members. And yes, light layers are definitely the secret to Pedway success! We look forward to seeing you on more tours and at member events soon!
This was an outstanding tour! Chris was our guide and he did an incredible job. This was such a great way to see Chicago. I highly recommend!
Thank you for the great review! We appreciate the recommendation and hope to see you again!
