We had a very nice time with Vanessa and the food we cooked was delicious! We also liked the anecdotes about Ecuador. We highly recommend the class.
Thank you so much for your recommendation! ✨ We're delighted you enjoyed cooking with Vanessa and discovering Ecuadorian cuisine through her stories and delicious recipes. We hope you'll recreate the dishes at home and remember your time in Cuenca fondly!
Intimate experience with a delicious assortment of dishes. So informative and fun! Highly recommend!
So glad you enjoyed the intimate setting and the mix of food and culture 😊 Cheers, Maira from Cook in Fiesta
It was such a great experience that the 4 hours flew by. We started by meeting Vanessa at Super AKI, where we walked through the aisles while she introduced us to a variety of Ecuadorian ingredients. From there, we took a quick 5 minute taxi ride to Vanessa’s lovely family home. When we arrived, her husband Andrés greeted us and we headed into the kitchen where all the ingredients were already set up. We prepared llapingachos, hot sauce, canelazo, shrimp ceviche, patacones, chicken stew with rice, and espumilla. By “we”, I mean Vanessa handled most of the heavy lifting, but we still got to be involved and learn along the way. Everything turned out delicious. We were completely stuffed by the end.
Thank you for such a detailed and lovely review. We are so happy you enjoyed the full experience with Vanessa and Andrés, from the market visit to the cooking and of course all that delicious food, and yes, always plenty to eat 😊 Cheers, Maira from Cook in Fiesta
We had a great time at the cooking class. The dishes we cooked were amazing, Vanessa and her husband were a pleasure. Highly recommend

Amazing experience, we got to learn about Ecuadorian cuisine and culture. Highly recommend. So glad I can take some recipes home with me.
Vanessa was a wonderful host and helped us learn how to cook many traditional Ecuadorian dishes! An informative and pleasant host! Would recommend for anyone visiting Cuenca who is culinary minded.
Thank you, Vanessa will be very happy to hear you found her such an informative and pleasant host. We’re glad the Cuenca class was a good fit for culinary-minded travelers. Cheers, Maira from Cook in Fiesta
Vanessa and her family were incredible. We made 8 dishes (not including several salsas) unique to Ecuador, all of which were delicious. It was great to learn not only how to cook these dishes but about the culturally rich history they have. The class was offered in Spanish and English (they graciously helped me stumble through practicing my Spanish). An incredibly kind and talented family. I almost couldn’t do the class and somehow it worked out. It is by far the best experience I’ve had in my 6weeks traveling Ecuador. Cannot recommend highly enough
Amazing experience. Would recommend to everyone with all levels of cooking experience. Delicious food.
Happy to hear that the chef made the tour delicious and fun — thanks for the warm recommendation. ❤️ Cheers, Maira from Cook in Fiesta
Wonderful experience and we loved learning new recipes and more about Ecuador’s culture and traditions! We had a lovely time and had lovely company!
My partner and I had a great time at this cooking class! It was a truly authentic experience, and we got to learn so much about Ecuadorian culture and history. Our cooking class was held in Vanessa's home (in her own kitchen), which made the experience feel cozy and intimate. Vanessa had everything set up and ready for us when we got there. Vanessa used fresh ingredients, and she involved us in every part of the cooking process. We cut up ingredients, whipped up sauces, mashed potatoes, shaped patties... We were so involved that my partner and I both feel like we can now make these dishes (and drinks!) on our own. The best part of the experience - other than making and eating delicious food - was talking to Vanessa and learning about her love of Ecuadorian cooking. Vanessa speaks great English, and she was able to tell us about her travels within Ecuador (and the world) and how she learned to cook Ecuadorian dishes from different regions. Thank you Vanessa for such a lovely time :)
Vanessa set up a cozy, intimate environment, and being involved in every step of preparation, from chopping to plating made the class immersive and practical. We're so happy to hear that!🥔 Cheers, Maira from Cook in Fiesta
