4 Day Islay Whisky Tour desde Edimburgo

My wife and I had a great time on this tour. Moray was a fantastic (and sarcastic haha) guide, and the distillery visits were excellent: very informative and very tasty. Our accommodations were also great. Andrew and his family were generous hosts and made each breakfast memorable and fun. We highly recommend Scottish Routes!

An incredible experience for lovers of Islay whiskies. All features of the tour were excellent—organisation, accommodation, distilleries, and our tour guide. I can’t really think of anything to improve and highly recommend it. My son—who runs a whisky bar in Canberra, Australia—and I loved it.

Well organized. Good guide/driver, nice minibus. Very spacious and comfortable accommodation. During 2 days of stay and 2 days (3 nights) of travel visited 7 distilleries, which seems impossible to achieve if you were on your own - lots of whisky tastings, difficult to travel on the island without your own vehicle. All in all I have to say that organized tour of Islay distilleries is the only way to do it. And Scottish Routes delivers a great adventure.

This tour was genuinely fantastic for any Whisky lover and, of course, especially those who love the Islay distilleries. Further to the benefits of being driven from place to place, allowing full indulgence to taste the wonderful array of samples offered at each location, the planning of the trip was excellent: different tours (overview of distillery; warehouse tasting; full tour of production; relaxed tasting sessions) were arranged at each location which all complemented beautifully without being repetitive. Our tour guide, Moray, was fantastic – highly knowledgeable and the ideal personality to take us on this journey - and the others on the tour (ten of us in total) formed a lovely group to enjoy it with. It was a truly memorable experience (somehow, my memory of the trip is fairly complete) and offered great value. Ensure you have space in your luggage for the range of complimentary glasses and taster bottles you will leave each location with, and any bottles you buy, of course… I would highly recommend.

We recently did an incredible 4-day tour of Islay, and it exceeded every expectation. It was remarkably well organised from start to finish. • ​Our Guide (Jamie): He was absolutely amazing! Super easy going, highly experienced, and packed with an incredible wealth of Scottish history knowledge. • ​The Tastings: A perfect variety of experiences, including comprehensive full distillery tours, intimate warehouse cask tastings, and great casual shop/restaurant tastings. • ​Accommodation: We stayed at Bowmore House. The rooms were big and comfortable, and the hosts were wonderfully welcoming. ​ Overall Verdict: A perfect 10/10 experience. Impeccable organisation, rich history, and world class drams. Highly recommend!

A well balanced and comprehensive experience of Islay whiskey, Scottish nature and historical stories. Our guide Jaimie was extremely professional in her role, I can think of no better. A lot of history mixed with comic elements, several stops in magical places all in a cozy atmosphere. The guide was very service oriented and had answers to most of the requests. The different distillery visits offered different setups why no visit was the same. Everything from standard tasting to tasting directly from the barrels, full review of the process, history of distilleries to be concluded in the distilleries' own store where both the usual varieties and more exclusive were offered. The accommodation was carefully selected. We stayed at Bowmore house which was a delicious bed and breakfast. Very good breakfast with good service. There was nothing more to be desired here.

We thoroughly enjoyed the tour. Stefan the driver was excellent - very knowledgeable, good driver and organised. The itinerary was well balanced. The accommodation and breakfast was excellent. We enjoyed getting to know like minded people on the tour from many different countries. The range of distilleries was well thought through and the guides were excellent. However we were disappointed with the guide experience at Ardberg.

John, our driver, was amazing. We stayed at the Bowmore House and it was lovely with very gracious hosts.
