Excellent guide. Funny , entertaining and knowledgeable. Takes you to places that you may miss. His story about visitors not expecting steps was very funny.
We loved this tour especially going to the less busy entrance and sections of the island. Our guide met us at the visitor center then took us on a walk to explain the tides, the history and interesting stories. He actively engaged our teenagers and was extremely knowledgeable of the history of the island. We learned about the residents, the kings, the monks and how the island became the amazing place it is today. The tour through the less busy areas is something everyone should do, I know we wouldn't of explored these areas on our own. The tour ended with tickets to the Abbey and we were left to explore on our own. Highly recommend!
We loved our guide Honoré for his knowledge, his humor. The tour was very pleasant! We loved it Big thanks to Honoré
Nothing was ever said about the hundreds of steps necessary to reach the Abbey. I bought tour tickets that included Abbey admission. Two of our group are in their 70's and unable to climb many stairs. They were not able to reach the Abbey, and now I have to reimburse them for the price of the Abbey admission. I must now pursue Tripadvisor for reimbursment the unused tickets! Also, the guide spoke english with a heavy french and african accents and we could not understand him most of the time.
Mr Paul, This a first time I receive such negative message. About thew steps, you are lying that there is no indication on the website. There is a warning in our accessibility remarks advising everyone that there are steps and up and down walkings. If you're a clever person who speaks English and read it, you should be able to see that. Go back to our product and you'll see that everything I'm saying is true. Concerning the English, if you couldn't understand what the guide was saying, why when he asked if you do understand what he is saying, you didn't say no. You communicated with him on the phone to change the schedule and you did understand everything he said. Do you know what is African accents? You asked many questions to the guide and he gave all answers. If it was difficult to understand him, why didn't you tell him? Can you speak other language like French than English? If you try one day, I don't think you'll have a French accent but an English accent. The guide asked you to give you tickets and you said no, because you were not going up. Tickets were given to everyone else. When you asked 2 ticket later on the phone, it was sent to you on the spot. I think you just
Honoré is an extremely personable guide who blends sharp storytelling with the odd fun fact and a lot of good humour. The route taken is very well designed as it avoids a lot of the crowds that otherwise swarm the island. This results in a more intimate experience of the place. I would 100% recommend this tour to anyone thinking of visiting.
Honore was wonderful! He was very personable and extremely knowledgeable! We enjoyed his sense of humor.
Great with the guide Ms. Bousso
Great guide. He explained the history and a lot details. You are required to climb many steps. I recommend that you start early in the morning.
Brilliant tour with such an extensive history. It was personalised as much as possible and the tour guide had great communication beforehand as well.
Honoré was full of history and stories during our tour. He was very positive and conscientious of everyone on the tour.
