Calle Ocho no frena para nadie, y este tour se inclina a la derecha en ella. En dos horas, comerás, beberás y pasearás por los monumentos, sabores e historia viva que hacen de Little Havana el verdadero alma de Miami. Comienza en el Monumento a Bahía de Cochinos, donde las historias de la migración cubana de la década de 1960 marcaron el escenario. A partir de ahí, el barrio se desarrolla : coloridas esculturas de Gallo, el Memorial José Martí, el Mapa de Cuba, y el Parque Dominó, donde Celia Cruz y Gloria Estefan tienen su lugar en el Paseo de la Fama. Entonces la comida toma el relevo. Jugo de guarapo fresco en una frutería del barrio, pastelitos de guayaba en escamas y croquetas de jamón de una panadería familiar, un café cubano ponzoñoso, mariquitas crujientes y un sándwich cubano perfectamente prensado. El recorrido se cierra viendo trabajar a maestros rulos de puros, una artesanía tan parte de la calle Ocho como la propia comida. Reserve un lugar en un grupo pequeño o hágalo suyo por completo. Opciones privadas están disponibles para aquellos que quieren la experiencia completa para sí mismos.

Este recorrido a pie le llevará a través de un humilde barrio en desarrollo, que goza de un caleidoscopio de cultura, costumbres tradicionales y colores vivos. Pasee por el Memorial Boulevard para saber dónde comienza la historia y visite establecimientos familiares locales como un mercado de frutas, una panadería, una tienda de ropa (guayaberas) y la tienda de tabaco. Aunque no se ofrece comida en este recorrido, podrá probar café cubano recién hecho. Su guía le contestará cualquier pregunta sobre la historia, la gente y la política. Se le presentarán exiliados cubanos y la segunda generación que regenta los establecimientos locales familiares. Por último, tendrá el honor de conocer y hablar con los supervivientes de la batalla de la bahía de los Cochinos, que compartirán sus conocimientos e historias de los hechos.

Our tour guide, Cesar, was amazing! He was deeply knowledgeable about Cuba, telling us the history all the way back to the 19th century. All the places from food to cigars to ice cream were fantastic. It was amazing to hear Cesar’s experience immigrating from Cuba and to where he is today.

Our 2 hour Express Tour of Little Havana was the highlight of our trip to Miami. This vibrant neighborhood, full of history and Cuban culture was brought to life by our tour guide, Cesar. Cesar was fantastic! He started the tour by telling us the history of Cuba and the struggles his people. He shared his personal story of leaving Cuba at 19 to make a better life for himself in the United States. He is an amazing man. We then walked the main street of Little Havana and stopped in several shops to sample baked goods, coffee, sugar cane water and ice cream. We went to a cigar shop and watched a woman roll a cigar. We went to the famous Ball and Chain restaurant and bar to see the original interior. Along the way we'd encounter locals who Cesar knew and we'd learn about their stories. This tour with Cesar is a must while in Miami!

Our guide, Kayan, was absolutely perfect. He's informative and funny. We can tell he has done tons of reseach and actually know what he's talking about. He definitely made this tour a wonderful experience. We've been on tasting tours before. The tasting sample is normally the tiniest amout but not on this one. More than expected considering it's just a "sample". The quality of these tastings did not disappoint either. Delicious!
