Oslo está situado en el bello fiordo de (Oslofjorden en noruego) y está rodeado de colinas boscosas. Navegará junto a numerosas islas, como Hovedøya y el Faro Dyna, a través de estrechas ensenadas y bahías protegidas para que pueda captar la capital con su cámara desde diferentes ángulos. Pasaremos por la Ópera de Oslo, que alberga la ópera y ballet nacional noruego. This cruise is definitely worth both the time and money. Try to purchase in advance. Oslo’s architecture, climate and historical progress are definitely represented. We went in late July, and Oslo really comes alive in the warmer weather. Be sure to sample today’s catch in the various restaurants surrounding the cruise area as well.
What a delightful Oslo fjord cruise aboard the S/S Helena! The vessel itself is a wonderful old ship maintained in excellent order, the crew so competent, friendly and pleasant, the route so full of interest and helped by an appropriate recorded commentary which chips in from time to time with just the right amount of information. At times the engines-which are not really noisy or intrusive-are cut by the skipper and the Helena just drifts forward in blissful silence passing by these lovely peaceful scenes amongst the archipelago. How these people live! Refreshments are served by the purser at the bar; what can beat a cold beer or crisp glass of wine under the summer sun in this wonderful place? Overall an excellent, good value experience.
One needs to understand how Norwegians define a Fjord - especially their largest Fjord. I did not understand that the water entrance to Oslo was once filled with ice, and when that melted, it created the giant fjord leading to Oslo. Since we had just entered Oslo on a cruise ship most of the tour duplicates that which we had just seen. The first 30 minutes in the bay around Oslo was very helpful!
It was a lovely calming trip. Beautiful scenery. Loved the sauna rooms and summer homes. Good to buy a drink as you travel. Bring a sunhat
The 2-hour cruise allows you to sail along the fjord on one side, after passing in front of the opera house and the Munch Museum, then return to Oslo along the other shore. You can see many islands. The commentary in English is interesting. It is perfect in the summer under the sun and more comprehensive than the short one-hour cruises.
The sailing itself was good, but very windy and raining. Of note, on board there are snacks, beverages hot and cold, alcohol, souvenirs for sale mid-ship lower level, as well as bathrooms. The true star of this trip was the WONDERFUL crew on board and on land. Two of our passengers had limited mobility. One fell after exiting the gateway. Did I mention it was still raining?! The crew rushed to help, and ANGELS appeared from inside the building to assist! They offered us shelter, umbrellas, a dry place to wait, and arranged special transport back to our ship. They are the true picture of compassion and warm hearts! Choose this company for the BEST in Oslo!
Saw an advert for a fjord cruise which would take us nicely to lunchtime. We boarded the Christiana and had an interesting cruise around the fjord. The boat itself is an old sailing ship - below decks was worth a look to see the huge beams. Excellent, clear audio in English. The crew were lovely - hard to beat a beer on the high seas. Comfortable seating with blankets provided for the chilly folk.
The starting point was easy to find.
For those seeking a leisurely and calming afternoon experience lasting at least two hours, this tour is an excellent choice to consider.
