We made the error of booking the ziplineride by reading about in on the operators web-page, where the impression of the ride to us seemed quite more than what the $60 pr. head gave us; 17 seconds each...! When we arrived at the top of Ulrikken, where you find this zipline, we realized this was far from what we thought it would be, having experienced ziplines in multiple countries, on lots of other travels. We tried askimg the servicepersonell if a refund would be possible, something the person on-site was quite positive too. Not an uncommon thing to ask for when buying a servive online, and the reality seems different to the presentation on web. However, we had to call the bookingagnet. The bookingagent was not understanding at all, and quite rude on the phone with my wife, in contrast to the zipride personell on-site. No refund, or even half a refund, was possible at all. So we ended up with 4x 17 seconds of wind in our hair, ending in a hard stop at the end of the line. My advice to those who consider this ride is to see-before-you-buy, and truly consider if $60 for 17 seconds is worth it.
I am the person who took your call. I am sorry if you found me rude. I belive I was politely declining your request for a refund. You call was made at the same time as your tour started, we were fully booked and also had turn away additional guests. So if you had contacted us earlier we could have had other guests to fill your spots. Also, the reason you gave us for cancelling was that you belived the zipline took you all the way down from mt Ulriken so you did not need to pay for the cable car - this is very clear on our website that you walk back to the starting point. You also threatened with giving us a bad review if you did not get your money back.
It was a good sunny walk up and down Mt Ulriken. Once we got to the top the view was beautifully scenic. I want to thank Dana and Han for helping make the experience worthwhile. You can get up to 70/80km. I would highly recommend doing it! (But check the weather for a clear day!)
Hi Damibox. Thank you for your review. We love to hear that you had a great experience on the zipline at Mt Ulriken! And that you had sunny weather and combined the zipline experience with hiking up and down the mountain, is something we know made it even more of an adventure. Yes, sunny weather is great on a day with ziplining, but in return imagine the exciting feeling of zipping in the rainfog... Great experience anyway. Thank you also for mentioning our instructors, we are lucky to have them on our team. We hope you left Bergen with lovely memories and a lot of pictures Best wishes for all your future outdoor adventures to come. Bergen Base Camp crew.
We have tried several ziplines in recent years and some really adrenaline and spectacular. But this was the shortest zipline we ever tried with the highest price we ever paid (600 nok). The duration is shamefully short! Beautiful panorama yes but for that just climb to the top on foot or by cable car (also this dear).
Hi Exploerer Thank you for your review. We are sorry that your zipline adventure did not meet your expectations. The zipline is 300 meters long, and as the fastest in Norway, you are correct, the ride does not take long. The price for the zipline is lower than you mentioned, and we are unsure why you write NOK 600 per person. We hope the visit to Bergens highest mountain, views and experience overall left you with fond memories. Best wishes for all your future outdoor adventures to come. Bergen Base Camp crew
We, family of four with children aged 10 and 15, all really enjoyed the zip line. Fantastic view of the city and mountain whilst zip lining along. Booked online beforehand, there is a signpost of where to go once at the top of Ulriken. You can either take your backpack with you or leave it at the start. Took mine with me with no issues. The hike back up to the start took around 10 mins and was muddy and slippy in places.
Thank you for your review. We are happy to hear that you enjoyed the Zipline and share your experience. :) We hope you left Bergen with a lifetime of memories. Best wishes for all your future outdoor experiences to come. Bergen Base Camp crew.
10/10 would recommend! Allegedly at 60mph, Mt. Ulriken's zipline is the fastest in Norway. You're 65ft/20m off the mountainside whizzing past the scenery for about 30 seconds 🤩 My boyfriend was too heavy to safely participate: can't weigh more than 220lbs/100kg. But he was able to hike down below the line and get a great video and stills(attached). There is quite a hike back up, so be prepared as there's only a minimal trail. Victoria was our guide and she was fantastic! Very knowledgeable and funny 😁
Hi Jenaleigh86 Thank you for your review! As you mentioned- the zipline is fast , and safety is the most important and therefore we are very careful to comply with the safety- rules. Thank you for mentioning the hike back- in mountain terrain- that requires good shoes. The hike back will take about 10-13 min and offers lovely mountain surroundings and a different perspective of the zipline. Victoria is a very valuable member of our staff, and highly experienced as the zipline operation manager. Best wishes for all your future outdoor adventures to come Bergen Base Camp crew
Friendly instructors who made sure we were all very safe. Be prepared for a jolt when you get to the end, wasn’t as bad as I was expecting, though. Shame it wasn’t longer to be honest! I found it a bit difficult to find where to go - basically follow the sign down the back of the restaurant, past the water fountain and turn left at the end. The walk back up from the end of the zip line is very wet and slippery so where appropriate shoes
Hi Paula Thank you for your review! Yes, it would be amazing if the zipline was longer! As you mention- the walk back is on mountain terrain and good shoes is a good advise for future guests at the zipline. We hope your stay in Bergen filled you up with a lifetime of memories! Best wishes for all your outdoor adventures to come. Bergen Base camp crew
Staff was very friendly and very knowledgeable about the area. We felt very safe using the zipline equipment. The view form the zipline area were fabulous. We would certainly come back.
Hi Chad Thank you for your review! We are so pleased to hear that you had a great experience at the zipline. We are very proud of our instructors and the job they do making riding the zipline safe and fun- for our guests. And yes, the view- best place for a zipline would`t you say? :-) Best wishes for your future outdoor experiences to come!
Underwhelming. This is only a short zip line along the mountain top. Hike up the mountain instead of taking the cable car and you'll have way more breathtaking views and experiences. This is very overpriced
Hi Fionn Thank you for your review! The zipline is 300 meters long, and you are correct, its not among the longest in Norway. But - it is the fastest! Your tip on hiking up the mountain- is appreciated- and we do agree, it will provide stunning views and a wonderful nature experience. We hope you had a nice stay in Bergen in total. Best wishes for all your outdoor adventures to come. :-)
Super cool experience. Took my two kids and we all loved it. Our guide who helped us get set up was so pleasant and friendly, telling us stories about Bergen while we waited our turn. Also, this thing is fast!
Hi Bo_K Thank you for your review! What a way to spend a day with your kids! Sounds fun! We are happy to hear that you alle loved it, and that you also got some stories as you waited. The city has a long history, so there is so much to choose from. Yes, the zipline is fast! The fastest in Norway. Best wishes for all you future outdoor adventures to come. :-)
This was an absolute blast! I loved every second of it! I am afraid of hights and the crew working that day was amazing, they hyped me up and was a great support. 10/10 will do again!!
Hi E-N-W-36 Thank you for your review! We are so happy to hear that you did it, even though you have fear of hights! Well done! Yes, the staff is important when it comes to supporting and we do have the best intructors! We hope you do it again- and again.... Best wishes for all your future outdoor ( zipline ;-) ) experiences to come. :-)
