Greenstone is beautifully situated on a single site in the picturesque Yarra Valley, an hour’s drive from Melbourne. The Winery and Cellar Door, which are nestled in to the base of the Christmas Hills, have unparalleled views of the Estate vineyard and Great Dividing ranges. It is here that winemaking operations are carried out, making Greenstone one of the most progressive wineries in the valley.
Tucked away just off the Melba Hwy, Balgownie is a real gem. With spectacular views and a great display on the history of winemaking, this place has a lot to offer. The cellar door staff will share some of their great wines with you after which time you can relax and enjoy the view or wander around their facilities.

The cellar door which is a converted old hay shed is situated at the top of the hill, overlooking stunning views. This charming rustic cellar door, oozing with character is a fantastic environment to enjoy superb wines made with traditional winemaking techniques. The cellar door proudly showcases antique cooper tools used by pioneer winemakers over a century ago.
The Yarra Valley cool climate focus allows this winery to specialize in wine styles and varieties typical to northern Italy and south eastern France. With awards for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and a passion for northern Italian varieties, you will be sure to find something pleasing while overlooking the rolling hills of the vineyard and the majestic Warramate Hills.

Fantastic day trip, The wine tastings were generous and the Yarra Valley landscape was beautiful. We also enjoyed the local food and produce along the way. Worth adding to your itinerary.
We absolutely loved our day and winery tour to the Yarra Valley on 14/6/26. Brett was a fantastic host and very knowledgeable and super friendly and a lot of fun. He was also, an excellent driver, as we had a very heavy fog in the morning, which he managed very well. As we live in the eastern suburbs, it was terrific to be able to be picked up and dropped off at a Donvale point. The wineries we visited were a great choice and the wines and experts were very friendly and taught us a lot. We had a delicious lunch at Balgownie winery, which was served with a lovely glass of wine. We have been on a lot of winery tours and a lot to the Yarra Valley but this one was the best and we'd highly recommend it and look forward to doing it again with more family. Well worth it! Excellent knowledge base by our guide Brett and the teams at the wineries we visited. There is ample time to explore the wineries and get to know your fellow travellers. We had a wonderful day and would highly recommend the tour.
Great out amongst good friends and the vines
We arrived for pick up at 9:15 am. Waited for driver to arrive. He was late. Felt very rushed at the wineries and we were back in the city by 430 and we thought tour was until 6pm. Driver was rushing to get back to the city.
Hi There, Sorry to hear you felt rushed. Certainly not our intention. Just to point out that Our 1st Pick Up location time, as listed on all our documentation is actually not until 9:20am, not 9:15am. Sometimes unforeseen traffic conditions out of our control can affect our pick up and drop off times so we add a little padding to the timing to ensure we get to our 1st winery on time. Upon speaking with your driver/guide he assured me he was on time at the wineries all day, which is necessary for us to maintain our assigned booking slots and ensure service. A timed itinerary is necessary. Our return time, as stated in all our documents is between 4:30pm to 5:00pm. So it appears you arrived back according to our listed schedule. 6:00pm has never been a return time to the city on our tour. I will check with your agent to see if the information regards to timing they provided you is correct. Out of the 20 + wine tours I've been on, this was the absolute worst. If you are interested in an elderly boring no smiling experience, this is for you. No time to experience the vineyards, shuffled around without any opportunity to take photos or to enjoy the scenery, can't enjoy a glass of wine at all. These guys know how to stop fun
We respectfully disagree with this characterization of the tour. Our experiences are structured to ensure all guests can visit multiple wineries safely, on time, and enjoyably throughout the day. Guests are given opportunities for tastings, photos, and time at each venue, however we do maintain schedules and responsible service standards to ensure the comfort and safety of everyone onboard. While we understand our tour style may not suit every individual, we stand by the professionalism of our team and the experience we provide to the vast majority of our guests.
Andy was good - however he was unable to organise the group and we were constantly late at each winery. Wineries were great, beautiful country.

My husband and I attended on my birthday. It was a four-way tour of the winery with some very beautiful Yarra Valley views. You could choose your meal in advance during lunch and I had a white fish dish that seemed to go well with white wine. My husband and I bought a nice pair of wine glasses as souvenirs that we liked. It was a very satisfying excursion.
