Unique experience. Stumbled upon it while surfing Google.
Amazing drinks and jams 10/10
Had an amazing time visiting the workshop and learning about the different alchols and how their infused with sugars and different fruits to give them their amazing unique flavours. I personally loved the banana and cinnamon liquor but all the flavours where delightful and our host was amazing and very informative and helpful. The jams were superb with each having a unique flavour and sweet taste
Amazing experience. So nice to get to try such an important part of Cambodian culture and so delicious too!
Really great experience!!! Loved tasting the different flavours and trying the alcoholic jam with crackers
A beautiful place, such a fun experience, the alcohol was all unique and tasty
I had never heard of this place, but my Tour guide from the Golden Temple Hotel organised a visit as part of one of my Tours. I’m really glad she did as I had a fantastic experience. You get to taste 10 different flavoured rice wines that are all infused with natural ingredients. They were all delicious, but I did prefer some more than others and ended up buying three bottles to take home with me Well, worth a visit if you’re ever in Siem Reap
We pre-booked the workshop tour and tasting. But when we got there, all we got was the tasting. The gal doing the pouring for us during the tasting looked completely dumbfounded when I asked about the workshop tour that we were expecting. When I showed her the description of what we'd booked on the Sombai website, she called over some guy (looked like a manager) and conferred with him in Cambodian. While never speaking a word to us, he seemed pissed off that we had even asked such a question (like "what's wrong with those idiot tourists?") The tasting itself went ok, and we ended up buying a couple of bottles to take home. But the workshop tour would have been a neat experience.
Thank you for your feedback. To clarify what you booked: the $5 tasting visit includes a guided tasting of our full flavor range and a walk-through of our workshop space. It is not a full cocktail class or a private production tour. Our team did walk you through the tasting as described, and you did visit the workshop area. Regarding the interaction you described: our staff are non-native English speakers doing their best to assist dozens of visitors every day. Describing them as "dumbfounded" and attributing hostile thoughts to a manager who was simply conferring with a colleague in his own language is not a fair characterisation. We are glad you enjoyed the tasting and found bottles worth taking home. We hope that on reflection, a $5 experience that left you with great souvenirs and a good tasting was reasonable value. Best regards Benoit
It was really nice, the flavours were great and it was a fun experience overall
This place is great! Bought a bunch of stuff after the tasting. The flavors are unique and taste great. Might go again while I’m here. Highly recommend!
