Meet at the bottom of York's Shambles by the railings of St. Crux Church, look for The Wizard Walk sign!
York's shortest street (with the longest name!), and a wonderfully whimsical place to set the scene for our enchanting walk around this spellbinding city!
We'll take a wand-er up York's most iconic street, and the most enchanting street in the world! We'll pass shops selling peculiar potions and wizarding wares as we begin our search for magical creatures... *When too busy, we'll venture up the adjacent Colliergate instead
Mad Alice Lane...we'd be mad not to stop here, as we search for that rare and mystical of birds...the Phoenix! Will this magnificent creature ruffle a few feathers, and what bird-brained magic will our wizard get up to next?
Candy is dandy, and so we'll stop near York Sweet Shop in search of our next magical creature! Got a sweet tooth? No time to snack, but can you help conjure a chocolate frog? Hop to it!
We'll walk in the shadows of York Minster, adorned with gargoyles, grotesques and all manner of peculiar creatures! We'll search for a rat from the city's plague era. Can a rat really do magic? And what 'tails' will be told next? Find out on this spellbinding tour!
Next on our list is a magical mouse! Find out all about carpenter Robert 'Mousey' Thompson and watch in wonder as your wizard guide transforms a simple handkerchief into a white mouse and then brings it to life.
Our Wizard Walk continues through the backstreets of Bedern, as we work through our list of magical creatures in search of an elusive owl. Expect plenty of surprises along the way, it's always a HOOT on The Wizard Walk of York!

Phoenix 🐦🔥 was a wonderful guide, very funny and provided excellent entertainment for the kids and adults. My daughter is 11 and she very much enjoyed it, as did I.
Brilliant from start to finish! We took our shy 5yr old granddaughter and it was lovely to see her giggle at the silly jokes and be amazed at the magic tricks. Well worth it, lots of stops so you don’t feel like you are walking far. She loved the wand kit too!

My kids have been on the Wizard Walk several times since it begun and they have enjoyed it thoroughly every time! Perfect for mini wizarding world fans or just any kids that enjoy a good show. The wizard shows a genuine interest in each child and encourages them to chat and suggest answers. The tour is very interactive with children being chosen to come up and help with tricks and to suggest magic spells. Every time we have been all the children attending have been captivated, whatever age they were. Such a fun family experience and a must for anyone visiting or living in York!
We were lucky enough to join Oberon the Purple's very first tour on Monday, and as always, the Wizard Walk of York didn't disappoint! From start to finish, the experience was filled with magic, humour, wonder, and pure escapism. A huge shout-out to the newest wizard in town, Oberon..what a fantastic debut! He brought his own unique style to the tour and is a brilliant addition to an already incredible cast. What makes the Wizard Walk of York so special is the way it brings people together. The look of amazement on the children's faces is priceless, while the clever humour keeps the adults laughing just as much. It's the kind of attraction that leaves you smiling long after it's over. The world needs more experiences like this. If you're visiting York and love magic, laughter, storytelling, or simply making unforgettable family memories, don't miss the Wizard Walk of York. It's an absolute must-do!
An excellent tour for all. Very engaging and funny. Even if the kids didn't get all the references and jokes the adults will love them so something for all but the kids were kept entertained, captivated and included.Well organised and guided, excellent magic and just great fun. Recommended!
This was a really good, fun, light hearted tour and the Wizard (whose long magical name I can’t remember) was faultless. A superb performance!
