We booked the Ultimate Explorer Walking Tour as we were only staying in Whistler for a couple of days and wanted to get a better idea of the layout and feel of the town. Our tour guide Michelle was extremely friendly and professional and gave us an upbeat and entertaining tour. As a local she explained about the interesting history and community and how it blends with the thriving winter and summer sports seasons. We left with a very different perspective than we had arrived with and would definitely recommend taking this tour to gain a really interesting insight into Whistler. Michelle was excellent!
My husband and I had a surprisingly outstanding tour with Michelle, who took pity on us for forgetting our hats and sunscreen on a hot and sunny afternoon. She chose walking paths that had shade, and she made sure to match our pace, stopping for photo ops and to mark our path in highlighter on our map of the town. She was very knowledgeable and engaging with an infectious enthusiasm as she pointed out all the artwork and unique places around Whistler. We even stopped to get a drink of cold water and buy some “snicker bars” from a local bakery—yum! She walked us through beautiful forest parks, explaining how the loss of even one old growth tree spells trouble for its ecosystem. She really got us thinking…. She loved showing off Whistler’s amazing collection of public artwork, and explained the geologic history of the area’s glacial past. We felt like we had literally taken a crash college course on a beautiful area beloved for so many different reasons. Thank you, Michelle, for sharing your knowledge and appreciation for your community. We did this tour at the beginning of our stay in Whistler, which allowed us to get oriented for further exploration. We highly recommend taking this walking tour! Claudia and Ron Green Seattle
Our guide was friendly, effective, and efficient. She described people and places and events in a way that left us feeling like we knew a lot but also with suggestions for exploring more on our own. She answered our questions - and anticipated questions before we thought to ask - with just the right blend of general history, her own experience, and stories and experiences others have shared with her. We felt like we knew a lot more than we did before the tour, and more importantly, eager to continue learning and exploring on our own.
It was very kind and easy to understand the explanation. It was friendly and interesting to talk to. Thanks to you, I was able to spend a fulfilling day in the afternoon visiting the library where I was guided and shopping at the supermarket.
This tour was a great experience and I would highly recommend it to everyone on your first day! It was a mix of history, local info and tips on how to spend the rest of our time in Whistler. Our tour guide was very knowledge of the area and shared lots of interesting information.
