Whale Sharks Small-Group Tour in Cancun and Riviera Maya

An unforgettable experience that exceeded all our expectations! Our guide, Víctor, spoke excellent English and explained everything clearly, making us feel safe and well prepared. The boat was comfortable, and we found the whale sharks quickly, giving us plenty of time to swim with them. We were paired up, which made the experience safe and enjoyable. We were lucky to swim very close to two whale sharks and even a huge manta ray, with 6–8 whale sharks around us. My husband isn't a confident swimmer, but even he loved every minute. Thanks to the dive staff for all their help! The optional video is expensive but absolutely worth it. After the whale shark experience, we enjoyed a swim and a delicious lunch near Isla Mujeres. We were back at our hotel around 2 PM, making it a perfect half-day tour. Tip: if you're prone to seasickness, take motion sickness medication before the tour, as the waves can be quite rough. Highly recommended!

Our whale shark tour was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! The crew was professional, knowledgeable, and made safety a top priority while ensuring everyone had an unforgettable time. Seeing these gentle giants up close in their natural habitat was absolutely breathtaking. The boat was clean and comfortable, and the guides shared interesting facts about the whale sharks and the importance of protecting them. Everything was well organized from start to finish, and we never felt rushed. If you're visiting Cancún, this is an absolute must-do. It was the highlight of our trip, and I would recommend this tour to anyone looking for an incredible adventure!

The staff were great. Didn’t expect a full speed boat ride for an hour bouncing all over the place. 5 out 11 people were vomiting. You get two 10 min times in the water only. Now seeing the whale sharks go by you is something you will never forget. Then it was another hour drive back full speed with half the boat sick as dogs. I feel like it was the best day and worst all together.

I have taken this tour twice, once in 2018 and on July 2026, it has been amazing both times and the quality of service is unparalelled. It is heavily dependant on the weather and I am aware of it, but I have been lucky to have had two very suny and nice days. I believe the price is worth the whole experience since it includes lunch, and it's never too crowded since you go with a 10 people group. Do take the nausea pills if necessary.

we had a wonderful time, the guides made sure everyone got close enough to the sharks , we also saw giant manta rays and sea turtles on our trip. The guys prepared lunch for us while we floated in gorgeous turquoise waters and got to swim awhile. We had toast and coffee before the trip and the lunch was very flavorful! I would definitely recommend this excursion! we were picked up on time and tour guides made sure we made ir back as soon as possible so we could enjoy the rest of the day.

Our Guide Ariann was amazing, with excellent communication before the trip and super knowledgeable and had us set up for success to view the Whale Sharks. EcoColors made this such an awesome trip. Everything went perfect, the boat crew was amazing too. Highly recommend! 🦈 🌞 🛥️.

Once in a lifetime experience. Please ask for Ariann to be your guide. She was very knowledgable, energetic, and friendly. We took a chance with bringing along our 10yo daughter who is not crazy comfortable in the water. She did great with Ariann’s guidance and assistance. The captains and crew were also lovely. We trekked to this excursion from Cozumel but Ariann did a great job communicating with us. There was a hiccup with part of our group getting the pick up information but Ariann got it all sorted in a timely manner. She spoke fluently between English and Spanish so we all knew what was going on the whole time. Do not pass up this opportunity if you find yourself in Quintana Roo between June and Sept!!!!

Excellent day well worth it, Moe and his team worked really hard to make it an enjoyable experience timming ever dive so you are so close to the whale shark. And took some excellent videos thankfully because min were terrible. Stopped on the way there and back when the captain spot rays, turtles and dolphins. And allowed you time to film them. Lunch sanding in the sea delicious ceviche ( never had before but loved it) sandwiches and drinks were offered around in the morning no extra charge Would recommend hiring wet suit i didn't and the life jkt restricts you only a little won't ruin experience but with wet suit you can dive under. This is one off my bucket list so happy I'm so happy ive done this. Its an experience not to miss out on
