Itinerary
What does minnewater mean? This is the Dutch name for the lake, which is made up of two Dutch words: minne, which means both "common" and "love", and water, which means "water". Thus, the most correct translation would mean translating the word minne as "common", since these were the "common waters, community waters, everyone's water" since it was where the old port of Bruges was located, a site closely linked to the city and the daily life of its citizens.
The beguinage is one of the most representative complexes of Bruges, a prelude to what you will find in this magical city, an environment anchored in the Middle Ages immersed in a sea of tranquility. In addition, it is declared by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
You will have the opportunity to take beautiful photos from the small bridge. Go ahead without stopping.
In this beautiful square, our guide will explain the history of Bruges beer.
Here our guide will teach us how to identify the original medieval houses.
In front of the Old St. John Hospital, our guide will explain how the health system worked in medieval Bruges.
Opposite the old Hospital de San Juan, we will find the Church of Our Lady. From the outside, our guide will explain some curiosities about the white marble sculpture of the Virgin and Child created by Michelangelo that is inside the church.
In front of Gruuthuse, we will meet the most famous and powerful family in Bruges between the 17th and 18th centuries.
The so-called Huidenvettersplein, the Plaza de los Curtidores, is part, within the medieval complex that is Bruges, of that corner that in history is occupied by the old craft guilds.
Everything from here seems taken from a fairy tale. It is impossible not to resist the temptation to take one of the boats and begin our walk through the Bruges canals at the Rosario Wharf. I used to go to this place late in the afternoon, or after dinner. You will take with you the best memories of this city, which by itself usually holds the best memories in all who visit it.
Burg Square is the political center of Bruges, a charming place where architecture lovers can enjoy buildings of different styles that have been erected over more than a thousand years of history.
In one of the few certified artisan chocolate shops, we will have the opportunity to taste artisan chocolates. Our guide will also tell us about the famous Bruges chocolate and give us some tips to distinguish handmade from industrial chocolate.

This review would have been a zero-star review if it were not for the amazing, knowledgeable, subcontracted tour guide, “JK” (can’t remember his actual name). The company that runs this tour has absolutely zero customer service. I tried messaging them through the messaging portal, twice, with no response. I tried calling, but nothing but a French automated voice message asking to leave a message, again with no response or call back to my message. Please be careful when booking with this company!
A well done tour that was historical and yet enjoyable. It truly is a walking tour but you cover a great part of the city. Our guide pointed out recommendations along the way as well.
My family and I really enjoyed this tour. The Guide was extremely knowledgeable and made sure to give recommendations for places to eat. The meeting place was convenient; however Google map originally took us across town.
Oscar was a wonderful tour guide, and this tour was a great way to get to know the beautiful city of Bruges!
Brugge is beautiful. Our tour guide didn’t take us to the chocolate store. He changed the start point at the last minute. We had to ask about the cruise o canals. There was an issue with our names being on the list for the beer tasting. All in all not up to par with past tour with your company
Guide was quite uncertain and the info he gave was limited. After an hour we were given the option to take the canal boat or walk a bit further. It became the boat. By the way, the tour boat costs 12 euros the tour 42 so you have to pay 30 euros for the limited stories! That's nice earning!
Your guide Julian was very informative but there was a mix up with the meeting point. We were not informed of the new meeting point until well after the allocated start time which was very poor. There were 4 other people in the same boat
Excellent and very informative walking tour. Antonio was extremely personable and engaging. Boat tour was lovely with no wait for board ( may have timed this well). Excellent choice of beers to taste at the beer museum
Outstanding tour, great guild, fab time out seeing an amazing city.
Wear comfortable shoes. There’s lots of walking as it’s a walking tour. It was so informative and a great way to see the city.
