The tour was well organised and the guides were excellent. The itinerary was very good and the timing met our arrangements to get off our ship and return in time.

Picturesque town with excellent Godfried as guide.

This is one not to be missed. Bruges is a lovely town and our knowledgable guide Godfried made the tour very interesting with his commentary and polite approach.

Would recommend tour but with some changes for elderly group and volume

Guide kept walking way ahead of part of the group that was handy capped with canes. Did not wait for the group to catch up to explain about the monument or building. He was very soft spoken and it would have been very helpful if he had a microphone on and guest to have ear buds to be able to hear him.

Operator response

Please note that no changes or customization are available on the group tour you booked. When booking future activities through TripAdvisor, we strongly recommend paying closer attention to the tour description and restrictions. This tour description clearly states that it includes two hours of walking in pedestrian Bruges and is not recommended for anyone with limited walking ability, such as your lovely party, whom we permitted onboard as a gesture of goodwill. Next time, we will definitely reconsider making such an exception. Please respect your fellow cruisers, who have limited time ashore, and consider booking private tours that can be adjusted to your pace and needs. Safe travels!

Charming city of Bruges.

Bruges is a beautiful city and so very enjoyable to visit. Very historical with great shops and breweries. We did have a few issue with the guide. She delayed our start of the tour by nearly an hour because she was waiting on another couple to show up. When they finally arrived, we took off. She also had trouble keeping up with our small group of only 10. One lady in our group got separated from us and our guide didn't even realize she was gone. We finally heard from the lady that she had made her way back to the cruise ship. So I give the city of Bruges a 10, but our guide was very disconnected in many ways.

Great location with "meh" experience

First, Bruges is an amazing visit and I would highly recommend seeing all the places that this tour includes. However our tour was very disorganized, so that accounts for my rating. They overbooked the tour and originally asked us to lap sit (an 8yo doesn't fit on your lap in such small seats). Then they changed and asked at least 6 people to take a taxi instead of the bus. So we left late while they figured all this out. When we got to Bruges, the tour guide that was meeting us there wasn't in the same place we were, so we waited around for them. Everywhere we went they mentioned we had to walk longer because of a festival in town, or we were running behind so we had to speed up to get to the canal boats, or we lost time because the canal boats line took awhile, or "it's a shame we lost so much time for the market". All the talking about how we were running late or losing time made us stressed and feel like we were missing out. I also contacted them the same day--several days ago-- to provide feedback and they have yet to acknowledge which is probably my biggest rub.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback and your kind words about our destination. Please allow me to address the concerns you raised: 1. We provide seats only for guests with booked tickets. We were happy to allow your child to participate free of charge, but we could not immediately arrange an additional empty seat. As a result, we sent that party of 6 by taxi at our own expense. To be honest, we expected some appreciation for this effort rather than a two-star review. In the future, we will certainly reconsider making such exceptions. 2. The tour departed on time. We allow 30 minutes before the scheduled starting time to collect cruise passengers. If you prefer not to wait for fellow cruisers to disembark, please consider booking a private tour rather than a shared one. 3. The line for the canal boats can take few minutes, especially on days when several cruise ships are in port. Unfortunately, this is beyond our control. 4. All sites listed in the itinerary were covered, and the full tour duration was provided as advertised. If you prefer greater flexibility or more time for shopping, we recommend booking a private rather than a shared tour. When booking future activities through Viator, please base your expectations on the published description, itinerary, and inclusions rather than on personal assumptions. Safe travels!

An excellent tour

We met our guide right outside the cruise terminal. No chance of missing them. Our guide was very knowledgeable and informative. Bruges is beautiful and full of interesting history. Our guide provided lots of helpful tips on which waffles to try and chocolate to taste. Yum yum.... The canal tour was beautiful. The only disappointment of the day was the weather. As it rained on and off most of the day. Tour is well worth the money. A definite must do when in Bruges.

Bruges has a charm that's hard to describe

I was hoping for a charming historic town, but the city's laid back vibe made me want to stay. We had a great time exploring the canals and discovering a small chocolate shop on a side street. The trip felt much more intimate because the guide showed us locations we would never have found on our own.

Wonderful tour, the guide was excellent!

Finding the meeting point was a breeze as was checkin. They did appear to oversell the bus so several people had to get off and take a cab (the tour company paid for) to meet the bus in Bruges. Our guide was excellent. There are 2, but her name was Mary. 2nd Mary and Gurta were also involved in various parts of the day and all were so nice, so knowledgeable, and had great senses of humor. When we passed a public washroom a few people needed to go, Mary opened her own wallet and gave a few people that had no cash the 1 euro it cost to use the toilet! There was a lot of walking over mostly cobblestone streets so you do have to be a bit mindful of where you step. A few times I had some near misses with ankle fractures! The town is mostly flat and I did see several wheelchair users getting around just fine. Again, just watch the cobblestone. Bruges was absolutely beautiful. Mary had some great stories to tell us and there was no question she couldn’t answer. The boat ride broke up the walking tour and was lovely! We had about 1.5 hours free time to roam before we met back up, finished the tour and went back to the busses. We were back in plenty of time to make the ship. I would 100% recommend this tour.

The start of the tour was...

The start of the tour was a little bit disorganized because they didn’t have space for all in the bus. However, once that was resolved, the tour was great!!!!
