The location was a little confusing to find. Eventually we found it on the side street not on the Main Street like the address said. The bikes were easy to use but heavy. The tour operater was very friendly, engaging and helpful. 5 stars for him. The route takes you through heavily congested traffic, multi laned intersections and popular traffic residential areas before you get to the Manoa Falls entrance. Walking to the falls is a steep climb. Wear appropriate shoes as the terrain is muddy and rocky.
Hele on Waikiki (bike rental) was exceptional! Beautiful e-bikes, easy to handle, good instructions from a friendly/efficient staff. The Manoa Falls was an exceptional rainforest hike ending in a very petty waterfall. Highlight of the trip!
Thank you so much for riding with us and writing this great review! We are glad you enjoyed your Manoa Falls Bike and Hike! Aloha!
Very misleading advertising. There wasn’t a private guide. The biking through downtown Honolulu traffic was alarming. They did not provide hydration or maps. We wish we would’ve skipped the bikes and gone to Manao Falls on our own for free. The walk to and from the falls was lovely.
Aloha Laura, We are sorry to hear this! We hope your day and trip gets better! Please be sure to refer to the "what to expect section" when booking activities. In that section you will see, "***MUST BE CONFIDENT BIKE RIDER - THIS IS A SELF GUIDED TOUR***". Again, we hope your trip gets better. Aloha!
The waterfall just had a trickle when we went so a little disappointing. The GPS took us on some heavy traffic which was not very safe. We tried some bike lanes but couldn't tell where to go when it went into an intersection with angled streets. Suggest you don't do it near rush hour. We returned at 5 pm so heavy traffic. We couldn't find a bike rack to lock up the bikes at the falls and there was a guy asking for $3 each to get into the parking lot. A surprise we didn't expect. It was good for a short excursion but be aware of the items above.
It’s a little scary getting out of the main area of Waikiki. Some streets do not have a designated bike lane. The cars come very close to your bike! Once we crossed the bridge over the highway it becomes residential. Much more of a relaxing ride. The E-Bikes have good power to get up hills.
Aloha Sandy, Thanks for riding with us and writing this review! We are glad you folks had a good time! We agree, being a confident bike rider is a must for this activity! Aloha!
