In this mode, the tour is done in comfortable vehicles shared with other travelers. We head straight towards the famous Roman ruins of Volubilis, making a brief stop of about 10 minutes at Sed Sid Chahed to enjoy a panoramic view and take pictures and continue. Once in Volubilis, they will have about an hour and a half of free time to explore the site at their own pace. They can purchase admission on site and, if they wish, share the services of an official guide with other visitors. For those who have booked the ticket option included, our driver-assistant will deliver it directly and help you find an official guide if possible. In addition, the driver will clearly indicate the time and meeting point in Volubilis to continue with the rest of the tour. The driver does not act as an official guide at the monuments; this service is only included if previously booked with Papi Tours.

In Moulay Idriss Zerhoun we did not visit the interior of the village, but made a climb to the highest point to enjoy a spectacular panoramic view, where you can appreciate the perfect combination between antiquity and the tradition of the place, birthplace of the founder of the city. The panoramic stop lasts approximately 20 to 30 minutes. The full visit of the village is made only in private mode. On this tour we have given special importance to the imperial city of Meknes, as many history lovers consider it worth more time to visit. Therefore, we dedicate a significant part of the tour to discover the traditional charm of the “red city” of Meknes.

After lunch (In Meknes), we begin the visit of the imperial city of Meknes, former capital of Sultan Moulay Ismail and one of the four great imperial cities of the country. It is a stop of approximately 3 hours in free time, ideal to travel autonomously and easily. During the visit you can walk through its medina and discover its traditional atmosphere, admire the majestic Bab Mansour, approach the lively El Hedim Square and enjoy the historic surroundings of the city. You can also see the exterior of the Royal Palace and other historic gates such as Bab el-Khemis and Bab el-Berdaïne, examples of Spanish-Moorish architecture. Optionally, you can visit the Mausoleum of Moulay Ismail and the Royal Barns and Stables of Heri es-Souani, symbol of the imperial legacy. Strolling through its ancient medina is a symbol of 15th century tradition and authenticity. Really, it's worth it. In Meknes, there are plenty of restaurants and places you can choose to eat freely.

Good transport, be sure you want to see these sites

This tour essentially functions as air-conditioned bus transport for about 20 people to Volubilis, Meknes, and a few scenic viewpoints along the way. The driver was very friendly and professional, and the bus itself was clean and well-maintained. A few things to note: The entry fee for Volubilis is 100 MAD for foreigners, which does not include a guide. Finding an official guide among the many self-appointed "helpful friends" hanging around can be quite a challenge. Also, be prepared for immense heat during midday, as there is almost no shade among the ruins. Meknes is fine and offers some nice spots to explore on your own. Overall, if you treat this tour simply as a cost-effective means of transportation, it’s a good choice. However, I highly recommend doing your research beforehand. Know what you actually want to see and how to navigate these sites. Otherwise, you might end up lost in the heat and overwhelmed by all the "helpful friends.

Kindness

Good afternoon, I don't usually give my opinion in public, but in this case I think it's worth it. The value for money and the service have been two aspects that I loved. We were recommended this page by some Spaniards we met in Fez el Bali, and we decided to hire several excursions, including Meknes and Volubilis. Thank you very much for the kindness and good treatment.
