Great tour of the sanctuary with a lot of feeding activities with the protected animals there. Excellent tour for families, especially those with young children. Highly recommended!
Mario picked us up on time. He took the time to explain several things during the ride. He drove carefully. I was alone with my two daughters and felt safe. Upon arrival, we toured with a guide who explained what led these poor animals to the refuge. We fed the parrots, turtles, and llamas. The condors soared above our heads. I truly care about not supporting places that exploit animals, and when I saw the little llama run towards my guide, jump on his back, and then run to annoy someone else, I saw that there was a beautiful bond among all. They want to expand to give the animals more space. A beautiful way to support kind-hearted people and provide a pleasant activity for children. No pressure to buy anything. The atmosphere was relaxing!
A beautiful experience, recommended for those who love animals. They have a variety of rescued animals, which you can observe up close and even feed. The guide is very well prepared to provide you with all the information about the Sanctuary and each of its inhabitants. There are souvenir and food shops; the one I liked the most was the one outside the main entrance, where you can feed the llamas. They are 100% original products, and by purchasing, you help the cause. You can also make donations or volunteer.
Enjoyed learning about the animals! Our guide was very knowledgeable about the animals on site and we had the opportunity to feed some of them.
We love seeing animals, and wanted to support the work the sanctuary does. Some amazing collections of animals we never see in Australia. Description says three hour experience but was 1 1/2 hr. Guide on site did good job but took us from exhibit to exhibit, then handed us to manager who finished last few exhibits as they push you out the door to section across from carpark where you get to feed an assortment of alpacas and lamas and visit a very small run down gift shop where you can buy items to help support the sanctuary. BUT inside the sanctuary is a small cafe with coffee refreshments etc and a larger gift shop with 3 x the selection of goods to buy. When we asked if we could go back to this area, there was phone calls and clear reluctance to allow us back in. Response we got us that these stores are retail stores and proceeds from there do not go to sanctuary. So they rent out space then do everything they can to keep you away from there so they can’t raise funds to pay the rent that does go to the sanctuary. Could not even spend last 30 min just walking back past the enclosures and birds that are sitting in common areas. It’s a circuit and they want you in and out.
Thank you very much for visiting and for supporting our rescue and conservation work. We are pleased to hear that you enjoyed seeing the animals and appreciated the efforts of our team. We are sorry that some aspects of your visit did not fully meet your expectations. Our tours follow a guided route designed to ensure animal welfare, minimize stress to the animals, and maintain a safe experience for all visitors.
Really easy to book with great communication. The sanctuary itself is wonderful, one of the best experiences we had in Peru.
We got to see a wide variety of animals up close. The sanctuary is doing great work rescuing animals from traffickers and poachers. We had a great experience.
Thank you so much for your kind words! We’re very happy to hear you had a great experience. Your support helps us continue rescuing and caring for these animals. We hope to welcome you again in the future!
A really special place! I’d recommend it to anyone traveling to Cusco, you get to see so many native animals up close and personal. We got to feed the parrots, tortoises, Andean deer, alpaca, and llamas! Loved also seeing pumas, spectacled bears, the flying of the condors, porcupines, and monkeys. Each animal had their own backstory as to why they needed rehabilitation, very touching. I do wish they gave a bit more time for photos but overall an amazing experience. You also have the opportunity to makes some stops with the driver along the way if you want- we stop for some street food and outside saqsaywaman. If you already plan to go there, would be the perfect built in drop off.
Thank you so much for your beautiful review! We’re happy to hear you enjoyed meeting the native animals and learning their stories. It means a lot to us that you appreciated the rescue and rehabilitation work we do. We also appreciate your feedback about the photo time, and we’ll keep it in mind to improve the experience for our visitors. We hope to welcome you again on your next trip to Cusco!
What a great place to see the work they are doing to help these creatures.

I had the best time doing the VIP tour with Manuel. He was so informative on all the residents and shared their interesting back stories. You can tell that all of the animals are so well taken care of and loved. My favourite part of the experience was feeding the alpacas and llamas. I had the privelege of naming one of their new baby alpacas- Caramelo! Overall an amazing experience and transportation was included with our ticket.
Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re happy you enjoyed the VIP tour with Manuel and meeting all our animals. Caramelo is a beautiful name for the baby alpaca! We truly appreciate your support and hope to see you again soon!
