Start your day with an early hotel pickup in central Cusco and enjoy a traditional Andean breakfast along the way. Travel through scenic highland villages and valleys, passing grazing alpacas and llamas. Arrive at the Vinicunca trailhead, where your guide gives instructions and tips for the high altitude hike ahead.
Hike approximately 5 km through stunning Andean landscapes to reach Rainbow Mountain, famous for its vibrant mineral stripes. Pause along the trail to observe local flora and fauna, then spend time at the summit capturing photos and soaking in panoramic mountain views.
Descend the trail back to the trailhead and enjoy a scenic drive through Andean villages and valleys. See local communities, grazing alpacas, and highland landscapes. Stop for lunch along the way. We had an excellent time at the Rainbow Mountains! It was a bit foggy but it did clear up at points allowing for great visualization of the mountains. Our guide Edwin was excellent and personalized the trip for us. He explained the history and we learned a lot. Would recommend him and this tour to anyone!

It was a good but demanding experience. At one point I almost gave up, but for the support of the guide Joel was not going to make it. Upon arrival you will appreciate a wonderful view, highly recommended.

Excellent tour with our Guide Joel in Yupis group. The hike itself was really cool to try and conquer the altitude and Joel was helpful in making sure that we actually made it to the top. He was clearly knowledgeable about the difficulties of the hike and also knew about the history of the are which made the day all the more interesting. Would highly recommend Joel to any group visiting the area.
