Elizabeth was very informative and took her time. She did not rush us. And with the heat being so intense made sure we had breaks
The tour guide does not communicate prior to the tour on the exact location or who to look for. No contact from guide which is disappointing
We were very lucky to do this tour with Elizabeth, a very knowledgeable and lovely tour guide. The tour consists of walking down the Naschmarkt. If you don't know what this is, it is the gourmet market centre for Vienna. Lots of varieties of food from all over the world and all of it available for purchase. Under Elizabeth's guidance, she took us down the market whilst describing the market's history and characteristics. We were very lucky to sample products from several of the vendors. A highlight was a vendor who sold roasted nuts and dried fruit. Unbelievably good and so many things that we don't get back home. So in conclusion, if you are into food this tour is for you, I am sure you will find something you have not had before. Ask for Elizabeth if you can, she is truly the best!
This should clearly state that it is a food tour (more on this later) of foods from other countries and not Austria. We went with the expectation that it was a tour of the market with tastings of Austrian foods. Food tour is a bit of a misnomer as it was mostly smelling spices from out Europe. And the food we tasted was not Austrian. A member of the group asked about something in a display case and the guide said that is a typical Austrian food. But never were we given the option to try.
Enjoyable exploration of the market and its many offerings. Lilith also added information about history and architecture.
Eva was a wonderful tour guide. Really pleasant way to spend an afternoon. Great opportunity to talk to new and interesting people. Nice pace, not too rushed.
Monica was a great tour guide! She did a lovely job explaining and showing our group all the goodies this market has to offer. We really enjoyed ourselves!
We spent 3 hours with Kristine, who was delightful, taking about Austria, food and wine but the food samples were decidedly not Austrian and included dried fruit, Middle Eastern and Italian tidbits and Scandinavian smoked salmon. There was one Austrian cheese and an interesting stop at a spice stall. Perhaps a wiser choice in Vienna would be a Konditorei tour.
We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy the food at the Naschmarket. In the tour description we point out that you will be indulging yourself in a food tasting around the world as the Naschmarket is not an exclusively regional market. But we are going to adapt the description to make sure there are no misunderstandings for future customers. So, thank you for your feedback which helps us to improve. We hope you had a lovely time in Vienna!
We enjoyed all the goodies and from our enthusiastic Guide Tina. Highly recommended. We had a very nice afternoon.
