Drive along the scenic South Coast, stopping at the picturesque McLaren Vale Tourist Information Centre for local souvenirs and a complimentary tea or coffee. Continue to Port Elliot, where you can take a panoramic photo from the Obelisk lookout. Enjoy soaking in the stunning views. Climb over the rocks at Boomer beach with the chance of seeing a seal playing in the waves. Drive on to Victor Harbor, where you’ll have 2 hours to explore at your own pace. Take a self-guided walk or horse-drawn carriage ride to Granite Island, or enjoy some local shopping and eat lunch at a local cafe (included) or spoil yourself at one of the other eateries (at your own expense). Soak in the coastal vibes on this Victor Harbor tour. On the drive home, head to the d'Arenberg Cube, an iconic McLaren Vale winery, to admire the unique art and enjoy a wine tasting (must be 18 for wine tasting). During your tour, you’ll enjoy a relaxing stop at the McLaren Vale & Fleurieu Coast Visitor Centre. Guests can unwind with a tea or coffee at the on-site café, featuring locally sourced treats and scenic garden views. There’s time to browse the gift shop’s selection of locally made products and explore the art gallery showcasing works by regional artists—making it a perfect break to experience the flavours and creativity of McLaren Vale.
During your tour, you'll pause at the Port Elliot Obelisk, a historic landmark perched atop Freeman’s Nob. This 7.7-metre-high cream-coloured obelisk, constructed in 1852, once served as a navigational aid for ships entering the harbour, with a blue flag raised to indicate safe passage . From the lookout, enjoy panoramic views over Horseshoe Bay, Boomer Beach, and the surrounding coastline. The area is also renowned for whale watching, particularly during the winter months when southern right whales and their calves are often visible from the shore.
During your visit to Victor Harbor, admire the stunning coastal views from a scenic lookout before making your way to Granite Island—either by walking the causeway or opting for the historic horse-drawn tram, a unique and leisurely experience. Once back on the mainland, take time to explore the vibrant main street, where you can enjoy a bite to eat and browse a variety of local shops and cafes, all set against the relaxed charm of this picturesque seaside town.
At d’Arenberg in McLaren Vale, you can enjoy a memorable wine tasting experience and explore the striking five-story d’Arenberg Cube. This architectural marvel houses the Alternate Realities Museum, blending contemporary art with wine tasting for a truly immersive visit. Whether you’re a wine lover or art enthusiast, d’Arenberg offers a perfect mix of flavors, creativity, and culture. Optional wine tasting is included in the tour price (18+ only)

We had a very enjoyable tour. The weather on the day was very changeable, but this did not deter from the day as Liz was very knowledgeable and helpful to our needs. Time spent at each attraction was excellent as we never felt rushed. Visiting the d'Arenberg Cube should not be missed.

Tim was our tour guide for the day he was very nice,knowledgeable and interesting to listen to about the area pointing out many places of interest. The McLaren Vale area & visitor center was beautiful. We then went to Port Elliot which is a nice village and bakery. It was great to go back to Victor Harbour where we spent some of our honeymoon 40 years ago! We had plenty of time to stroll around & have a nice lunch. The d’Arenberg Winery experience was a great way to finish the day with its spectacular view,quirky art work as well as some nice wines! Thanks Tim and Discover Adelaide team!

Exceptional Day Out Exploring Victor Harbor, Port Elliot & The Cube I had an absolutely fantastic full-day tour of Victor Harbor, Port Elliot and The Cube. Our guide Tim was exceptional knowledgeable, engaging. He shared so much local insight and history without ever overloading us which made the whole day easy to enjoy. The itinerary was really well paced. It gave us plenty of time to explore at each stop without feeling rushed. It’s one of those tours where you look back and realise just how much you’ve seen and done in a single day. First of all, I’d like to thank our guide, Liz for giving me and my family a memorable day at Port Elliot, Victor Habour and d’Arenberg. She is very caring and attentive. Our mini van has free WiFi. The trip includes a complimentary drink, bottled water, and umbrella for use if it rains. We learned a lot from Liz about the History of Adelaide, and enjoyed the scenic views of different destinations. Overall, it’s a 10 out of 10 experience!

Started this tour with our great tour guide Liz telling us the history of the city, which was very interesting and informative for international travellers like us.
