Of course this wonderful Vatican tour includes access to the incredible Sistine Chapel. Although it is true there is something to be said for the early morning light in the Sistine Chapel, we believe there is even more to be said about its magical evening glow. Rome is famous for its “golden hour” which is that fleeting, enchanted moment just before dusk when the city seems to turn to Pure Gold. From January 12 through March 31, the Vatican Museums will be carrying out special conservation work on Michelangelo’s Last Judgment inside the Sistine Chapel. During this time, a scaffolding structure will cover the entire Last Judgment wall. The Sistine Chapel will remain open and fully accessible, but this specific artwork will not be visible during the restoration period. Thank you for your understanding as this masterpiece receives important care.

Laura Sensi was the best guide
This experience was interesting and Priscilla our guide from LivTours was knowledgeable… just an excellent guide
Tour guide gave plenty of information and was very sweet and funny.
Laura Sensi was an amazing guide. She asked what we wanted to see most and tailored the tour around it. I had a lot of questions and she answered all of them. Great at taking photos too!
We did the private tour with Laura Sensi and it was phenomenal. She was able to tailor our tour to specific art we wanted to see and was very informative. It was an entertaining few hours and I would recommend doing this tour, or any tour with Laura.
We loved our guide Priscilla. Super knowledgeable and knew all the ins and outs of the Vatican and grounds. The title of the tour does make it seem like it will be less crowded in my opinion-and when I looked it up, the Vatican’s last entry is 5pm, our tour was for 5:30, which gave me the idea the crowd would be thinning out, but definitely not! It was still quite crowded especially the Sistine Chapel. Note that this tour does not include St Peter’s Basilica—separate tour :( Other considerations-bring photo ID/passport (Vatican is it’s own country), cover shoulders and knees (church rules), and most of it is NOT air conditioned, so while you’re all covered up you’ll be in hot, stuffy, crowded buildings—so dress in light fabrics or wear a gauzy shawl.
Luisa was amazing!! We have done many tours throughout Rome and Italy, but she has been by far the best tour guide we have had. Thanks for a great experience!
Bruno our guide tied the art and history beautifully together for our 9 year wedding anniversary trip to Rome where my husband and I were engaged. We learned things we never knew before in a private conversation about Rome, and Bruno’s kindness and knowledge made our experience unforgettable!
Our tour guide Giovanni was exceptional. He knew exactly where to go and exactly what to show us. Our narration of the tour was top-notch. Giovanni is certainly an art expert with a great appreciation for the unique and rare pieces in the Vatican. This was my third time doing a tour of the Vatican museums, and I saw things that I never saw before and I learned so much. He paid great attention to all members of our family, including my teenage daughter and knew the exact spots to take family pictures and even asked for our phone to do it in the perfect spots. This is one of the best tours I’ve ever been on.
Private tour of Vatican- Francesca was amazing guide. We had wheel chair tour because my wife had knee surgery 6 weeks ago. Could not have toured the Vatican otherwise!
